On January 20, the reporter learned from the county agriculture and rural bureau that in the third batch of national famous and excellent new agricultural products listed in 2020 released by the Agricultural Product Quality and Safety Center of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, our county's "Jintang Black Goat" and "Jintang Grape" were listed and rated as national famous and excellent new agricultural products.
Jintang black goats in our county has a long history of breeding, our county is located in the western part of the Sichuan Basin, belongs to the subtropical humid monsoon climate, the average annual temperature of 16.8 °C, suitable for breeding goats. In May 2003, Jintang Black Goat was approved by Sichuan Province as a local excellent meat goat breed. In 2009, jintang black goats were introduced to cross and improve Guizhou white goats, Guizhou black goats, and Qianbei ma sheep (collectively referred to as local goats). On May 2, 2012, the former Ministry of Agriculture of the People's Republic of China officially approved the registration and protection of geographical indications of agricultural products for "Jintang Black Goat", and the output of black goats in our county has reached 120,000 that year. Jintang black goat is large, fast growing, high reproductive rate, adaptability and disease resistance, the whole body is black, rich in luster, its flesh is tender, juicy, no smell, when eaten, fragrant but not greasy.
Jintang grapes after years of development, the county grape planting area has reached more than 30,000 acres, of which grape shelter cultivation area of nearly 20,000 acres, mainly distributed in Zhao Town, Sanxi, Zhao family, Wufeng, Fuxing, Penny, Jinlong, Youxin and other towns (streets), the varieties mainly include summer black, red tip, beauty finger, seedless white chicken heart, rose fragrance, full of stars, sunshine roses, red barado and other more than 30, the annual output of more than 20,000 tons, the annual output value of more than 200 million yuan, grape industry has become the support industry of Jintang agriculture. Jintang grapes have also been continuously improved and strengthened in building grape brands, improving the industrial chain, improving the quality and safety of agricultural products, and production levels, which has enhanced the market competitiveness of Jintang grapes.
National famous and excellent new agricultural products refer to agricultural products that are produced in a specific area, have a certain production scale and commodity volume, have significant regional characteristics and unique nutritional quality characteristics, have a stable supply and consumer market, have high public awareness and reputation, and have been registered and announced by the Agricultural Product Quality and Safety Center of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and issued certificates. Selected as a national famous and excellent new agricultural product, it can further give play to regional advantages, adapt to local conditions, develop advantageous industries and characteristic industries according to market demand, achieve agricultural efficiency and increase farmers' income; it can strengthen agricultural standardized production and further improve the quality and safety level of agricultural products.
