According to Hollywood, HBO is working on another live-action spin-off of Game of Thrones. The show will continue the main series' story because it centers on Jon Snow — a role that Kit Harrington will reprise — rather than delving into the vast history of the episodic world as other spin-offs do.

No more details were shared about the Jon Snow spin-off, and the show may never come together — HBO has produced a series that is in development and could eventually happen again. But THR noted that Harrington was involved in the project.

The main Game of Thrones series is credited with the end of the story of these characters (and that period), with HBO deliberately getting into the hands of A Song of Ice and Fire author George W. Bush. RR Martin outlines the extensive history for subsequent projects. THR compares the Jon Snow series to the approach taken by Disney versus the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Star Wars, both of which dedicate the entire series to existing characters in mature sections of their respective timelines. Acceptance of the final seasons of Game of Thrones, especially Season 8, is much higher than in previous seasons.

Given the nature of the show, it's possible to see characters from Game of Thrones reach the finish line without dying in the Jon Snow series, although there's no news that any other actor has promised to do so.

Snow (though technically dead once) eventually survived the show, discovering that he was actually Egon Targaryen and therefore heir to the Iron Throne. However, after Snow kills Daenerys and Bran, Bran exiles After Snow. The show teased that Snow and Tyrion Lannister might one day reunite at the Great Wall, and after reuniting with Tormund's Giant Nemesis, other wildlings, and ghosts, he rode north and crossed the Wall.

There are currently seven Game of Thrones projects underway. The first spin-off series, The Dragon's House, will premiere on August 21. Meanwhile, fans of the novel series on which Game of Thrones is based are still waiting for the next book, The Winds of Winter, after more than a decade.
