Before retiring, Wu Zhilong was a workaholic who had been immersed in the fields and was seriously engaged in the experimentation, demonstration, promotion and technical guidance of new varieties, new technologies and new models of cash crops and vegetables, demonstration, promotion and technical guidance, training farmers and the implementation and research of projects related to efficient facilities agriculture in the front line of agricultural production.
In 2010, Wu Zhilong adopted the "two-stage seedling rearing" method to implement the "grain yield increase project" project in the fifth and sixth groups of Qingshuijiang Village, and obtained a high yield of more than 600 kilograms per mu, achieving high yield, stability and high efficiency of high-quality rice, highlighting the important role of cultivation technology in tapping the potential of fine seeds and promoting agricultural cost saving and income increase, and was successively selected by the Agricultural Committee of Qiandongnan Prefecture as an advanced worker in the "grain production increase project" project twice.

At that time, the yield of tomatoes per mu was as high as 3,000 to 6,000 kilograms, and the market demand in short supply attracted a large number of villagers who wanted to produce self-help to run to Wu Zhilong to "learn from the experience".
"In the past, the family planted corn and wheat, and they couldn't earn a few dollars a year, but since they changed to tomatoes, the family not only built a new house, but also had savings in their hands. Speaking of the changes in his family in those years, Yang Zhengfang, a vegetable farmer, was full of joy that could not be concealed.
The success of tomatoes also allows Wu Zhilong to see a broader development prospect in the countryside, through continuous experimentation, promotion and application, tomatoes, peppers, cowpeas, cucumbers, eggplants and other high-efficiency crops have taken root in Chong'an Town, which not only improves the economic benefits of the local people, but also makes Chong'an Town a supply base for pollution-free vegetables in Kaili City.
