Mulberries of the Dragon Boat Festival

There are several tall mulberry trees on the east side of daming lake north pole pavilion.

Because the epidemic has not entered Daming Lake for a long time, when passing by here today, I found that the trees were full of purple-black mulberry fruits. A young father and his young daughter were laughing and picking up, and a few pigeons and sparrows were bouncing around grabbing food. I couldn't help but itch my hands and bent down to pick up a few grains.

Mulberry fruit is the fruit of the mulberry tree, commonly known as mulberry.

Although picking mulberries is a very interesting thing. But it's really inappropriate to wear light-colored clothes to do this. Because the mulberries on the tree don't know that they will fall down and hit you at that moment, the clothes will be stained with a layer of purple red, which is difficult to wash off.

The ripe mulberries are very delicate, and most of them fall to the ground from high trees, but there is still a small part of it that is well preserved. At this time, the mulberry fruit is the most delicious, soft and sweet, and has a special fragrance. But the ripe mulberries are difficult to preserve, and there are also mulberries sold in the market now, which I guess were picked when the fruits were seven or eight years old. The taste of this half-ripe mulberry fruit is incomparable to the natural ripe sweetness.

The small and dark mulberry seems to be still a taste of Chinese medicine. What effect is not clear, but it is still quite effective in curing children's hunger diseases.

I did not have the experience of living in the countryside, but when I was a teenager, the school occasionally organized to go to the countryside to participate in half-day labor, which was called "learning to farm". I remember once I went to learn to plant seedlings, but I didn't dare to go down to the paddy field, because there were locusts in the paddy field, and the guy couldn't pull it out on the leg, which was really scary. Thank you for the teacher at that time did not force us....

There are silkworm farmers in the village, so there is a mulberry forest outside the village. The mulberry tree planted because of the silkworm breeding is a dwarfed variety, and the peasant uncles in the village always say to us very generously: Go and eat it, the mulberry fruit is very sweet. As a result, the hands and lips of the students were purple-red, and they couldn't help but laugh when they looked at each other.

The mulberry fruit that I want to sell in the market now is probably the fruit of this dwarfed mulberry tree. Otherwise, like the mulberry trees in Daming Lake Park, which are more than ten meters high, if you want to pick mulberries, you can only "look at the tree and sigh".

It seems that there is also a folk saying: do not plant mulberry before, and do not plant willows after that. The meaning is that you can't plant mulberry trees in front of your house. Probably because "mulberry" is homophonous with "mourning", it has an unlucky meaning. I guess this is the saying of the northern countryside, the southern region is mainly sericulture in the countryside, do not plant mulberry trees, what do silkworm babies eat?

Thousands of years ago, the Book of Verses contained:

Huai Sang and Zi will be respectful. Jing Zhan bandit father, Jing Yi bandit mother.

It means that seeing Sangzi is easy to cause nostalgia for parents. The "mulberry" and "catalpa" here are the mulberry tree and the catalpa tree. Because in the minds of the ancients, the mulberry tree with strong branching ability and the fast-growing catalpa tree are both trees of life, and people regard them as spiritual trees.

There is also the saying that "the land of Sangzi" refers to the hometown.

Now people in the city live on tall buildings, just imagine: there is a mulberry tree planted in the woods under the tall building, and during the Dragon Boat Festival, a group of children climb on the trees to pick mulberries and stuff them into their mouths.

Those of us who live on tall buildings.

What about our homeland?
