On May 31, 2012, near Badaling in Beijing, the joint tomb of The Bingxin couple was maliciously graffitied with red paint by his grandson Wu Shan. Bingxin returned to China from Japan in 1951. During the "Cultural Revolution", he was raided and entered the "cowshed" and accepted criticism under the scorching sun. In 1971, he ended the labor reform and translated works such as "Outline of World History" and "World History" with Fei Xiaotong and Wu Wenzao. On February 28, 1999, a generation of literary superstar Bing Xin died in Beijing Hospital at the age of 99.

Premier Wen Jiabao's evaluation of Bingxin: I remember when the old man of Bingxin died that year, I rushed to the Beijing Hospital at night to bid a final farewell to the old man, and her daughter took out a notebook for me to sign. I have great respect for the old man and love her work. She is a person with wind and bones, and at the same time a loving and affectionate person.

Old Man Ba Jin's evaluation of Bingxin: Generations of young people have read Bingxin's books and learned love, love for the stars, love for the sea, love for the motherland, and love for all beautiful things.

Bingxin's eldest son was named Wu Ping. Born in 1931, Wu Ping studied at a high school in Tokyo, Japan in his early years, returned to China with his parents, and then entered Tsinghua University to study, and gradually became a famous senior architect after graduation, and also served as a member of the Standing Committee of the Beijing Municipal Party Committee and a deputy to the National People's Congress. In 1966, Wu Ping met Chen Lingxia and opened a second marriage, and soon after the two were married, they also soon had a son Wu Shan and a daughter. At the age of 66, Wu Ping cheated on a married woman in her 20s and was caught by Chen Lingxia at home on the spot, and since then the family has been made restless! In 2001, Wu Ping and Chen Lingxia officially divorced, but the divorce lawsuit was fought for 6 years. Wu Shan believes that his mother is weak, the division of property ruled by the court is unfair, and his father Wu Ping is not good to his mother Chen Lingxia in life.

On the afternoon of May 31, 2012, dissatisfied with family conflicts and property divisions, Wu Shan came to the Bingxin and Wu Wenzao tombs in the Sculpture Memorial Park of Chinese Cultural Celebrities near Badaling, and painted the tombstone with eight red characters of "godson has no direction, he is a wasted man", and also posted prints. As soon as the incident came out, the society was in an uproar! Personally, I feel that Wu Shan's approach is too extreme, too excessive, no matter how angry, no matter how covetous of family property, should not do such a despicable thing of "deceiving the ancestors" and violating human morality!

Wu Shan was later sued by the park, and after coordinating with Wu Shan, agreed to repair the damaged tombstone and apologize to the public.
