Although she survived, Jessope was the one who stepped into the grave on half a leg because she was always plagued by illness and could die at any moment. Later, at the age of 16, Jessop lost his father and the mother moved to England with her children. Without his father's support, Jessope's family conditions were very difficult. She had to stop her studies to get a job, so she went to an ocean tanker and worked as a waitress. The problem was that ocean tankers only hired old, mediocre waitresses. But Jessope was in her prime, age and appearance did not meet the recruitment requirements, she had no choice but to dress herself up as an old woman, and she got her first job.

1 Olympic

In 1910, Jessop worked at the Olympic Games. She was shipwrecked less than a year after her job. At that time, the Olympic collided with a British warship leaving the harbor in Southampton, and the Olympic bow was seriously damaged. Fortunately, the experienced captain did not stop in place to rescue, but did his best to bring the passengers back to the port before the ship sank. As a result, Jessop escaped the disaster and lost his workboat

Titanic

The Titanic is the most famous and tragic ship in the world. On the night of April 14, 1912, the ship accidentally crashed into an iceberg. When the ship began to sink, Jessop was responsible for serving the passengers because she was the attendant on board. When she was in danger, she did not want to run away, but eagerly put the children and women into the lifeboat. When the ship was about to sink, the officer on board ordered Jessop to board a lifeboat and hand over the baby to Jessop. That night, the wind was cold, and the lifeboats looked unusually small in the ocean. Jessop used his body temperature to warm the babies of unknown origin until the next day, when they met the people who came to the rescue and were lucky to survive. The accident killed a total of 1503 people, and Jessop once again escaped from the clutches of the shipwreck and continued to work at White Star.

3 Britannia Nick

During World War I, Jessop's company converted a number of cruise ships into hospital ships, one of which was the most famous naval hospital ship, called the Britannia Nick. According to the arrangement, Jessop became a female nurse on the ship, specializing in sending the wounded soldiers back to England for treatment. It wasn't until 1916 that Jessop's ship exploded and sank into the Aegean Within 55 minutes.

A total of 30 people were killed in the accident, and the rest were put into lifeboats. As the ship's propellers were still spinning, a huge whirlpool formed on the surface of the sea, and one lifeboat after another was involved in it. Jessop had to jump out of the lifeboat to escape, but while she was swimming, she was badly hit in the head by debris from the boat. When Jessop was examined years later, doctors said her skull had been fractured.
