The tragedy occurred at the 10,000-word ticket betting station of the 6th NTUC Affordable Boutique Supermarket in marlin parade center.

80-year-old Ango Kwe and 73-year-old Ango Wah, who are more than 150 years old combined, knew each other at the time of the incident.

According to people familiar with the matter, Wah and Kwee had earlier knots, but somehow had a grudge.

On the day of the incident, Wah went to the betting station at the place of the incident to buy horse tickets, and happened to meet Kwee, the two somehow quarreled, and pushed each other on the spot, during which Kwee fell and hit the ground on the head.

Ambulance crews rushed to the scene of the crime and took a man to Changi General Hospital for treatment, and the injured man was Kwee, who later died.

With his death, Wah, suspected of toppling him, was also arrested and charged to court.

Wah is suspected of pushing Kwee down, causing him to fall and hit his head to the ground, resulting in his death, thus facing a charge of recklessly causing death.

According to the investigation, on the same day, Wah punched Kwee's upper body once, committing the crime of deliberately injuring people.

Wah is currently allowed to go out on bail of $15,000 after being charged.

Once convicted of reckless conduct resulting in the death of another person, his maximum penalty is five years' imprisonment, or a fine, or both.

The maximum penalty for deliberate injury is three years' imprisonment, with a fine of $5,000 or both.
