On Sunday 22nd May, the Standard Chartered Champions Cedar Cup (G1) will kick off at Sha Tin Racecourse in Hong Kong. Standard Chartered Bank has sponsored the Champions Cedar Cup since 2010. The total prize money of the tournament will be increased by HK$2 million to HK$12 million in 2021.

"Battle God Colt" and "General King" compete for the Standard Chartered Championship and The Chater Cup

The Standard Chartered Championship cedar Chater Cup (2400m First Division) will be held next Sunday (22 May) at Sha Tin Racecourse. On 10 May, the Hong Kong Jockey Club announced the list of registered horses for the race, with a total of 10 horses interested in participating in the race, including the previous champion "Battle God Foal", the 2022 Citibank Hong Kong Gold Cup Champion "General King", the 2021 Hong Kong Bottle Palace Army "Timely More" and the 2022 Queen's Jubilee Memorial Cup (1400m) runner-up "Jiaying Star".

The Standard Chartered Championship Shade Cup is the last first division of the season, and Shen Jie once again sent the Brave Battle God Colt to defend the title. The five-year-old trained by Miao Reed competed in the Fuwei Insurance Queen's Cup (2000m first class) and won a third place at odds of 74 times the odds. At present, the colt is actively testing the gate to prepare for the Standard Chartered Championship and Shade Cup.
