Back in the HiFi circle, I found that there is actually such a law. Seven or eight years ago, with the strong rise of Lou's, pure moving iron headphones because of their super high resolution and density, for a time the limelight, a large number of crazy stacking units of multi-unit moving iron headphones emerged; followed by the Renaissance of dynamic headphones. Let's start with the timbre. To my taste, mm2's timbre is neutral and slightly cold, and the first feeling is strong resolution and sound density. In addition to the mellow atmosphere, the overall sound is very healthy. The line feel is moderate and slightly stronger, without excessive burrs, and without obvious aggression. The general taste is clean, soft and airy.
The three frequencies are balanced and there is no obvious tendency. Low frequency is the absolute strength of MM2, the sense of volume is moderate, the layers are clear, supplemented by strong force and excellent diving deep into the throat, and the sense of presence in the whole sound is stronger. The sense of location is very good, very honest to stay in the lower part of the sound field, did not attack the vocal part upwards, to give praise.
The mid-range vocal distance is moderate, the silhouette and mouth shape are large and clear, and the youthful tuning is clear and bright, which is quite sweet. The penetration is good, and the tooth tone is smooth and almost inaudible. The thickness is moderately thin, the tension is full, the female voice effect is outstanding, and the male voice is not bad.
High frequencies are the most commendable part of mm2. Gorgeous and transparent, with rich details, the transition between high and very high frequencies is silky smooth. The key is that this very high frequency is slender and bright, and it will not be stimulated at all, and it is quite soft and durable. Naturally full, smooth and clean, under the close listening, the interpretation of the electrostatic unit and the moving coil or moving iron in terms of high frequency does have a smellable difference. In my personal experience, the high frequency of static electricity is more lively, more elastic, more slender, and the grain is more obvious; while the high frequency of the moving coil or moving iron highlights the surface, which is smoother, more coherent, and denser.
In terms of soundstage, the overall distance is relatively close but not close to the face. The horizontal performance is average, the vertical direction is not bad, and the whole is a regular oval. The margin has a certain sense of hitting the wall, the edge resolution has signs of weakening, and the positioning of the instrument is more accurate.
The dynamic performance is decent, not brilliant, but it is also not stretched. Supplemented by a medium-to-fast transient, the "cool feeling" is still more obvious. It belongs to the type that is not too showy, very warm, but more ear-catching.
In terms of drivability, MM2 is not very hard to push, the current mainstream two or three hundred dollars of small tail can be pushed, do not have to worry about the problem of pushing can not move.
Probably that's the sound. Next, let's talk about the choice of tuning catheters and earbud sleeves.
Under the equalization catheter, MM2 gives a significantly partial middle and lower disc sound: the low frequency volume sense is larger, the sense of existence is extremely strong; the brightness of the human voice will be darker, the clarity of the outline, the sense of line of the image will be weaker; the high-frequency details are relatively small, and no obvious electrostatic taste is heard. This is still true for equalization catheters, not to mention low-frequency catheters.
Burners who often play with earplugs should be familiar with long and short earplugs that look like this. As I imagined, the long set outlet is smaller, the sound is more turbid, the low frequency and reverberation are more, and it is more suitable for the movement of the song; the short set outlet is fully open, the high frequency performance is better, the sound base is much cleaner, and the reverberation is more restrained.

So the question is, is MM2 recommended?
My answer is: it's worth playing.
Frankly speaking, the quality of MM2 is in line with the mainstream level of the current five hundred files, but it is not a headset that can cross the level to fight monsters, compared with thousands of yuan headphones, there is a significant gap. The real appeal of the MM2 is that you only need to spend less than five hundred dollars to experience the charm of electrostatic headphones, which any other headphones at the same price, or even thousand-dollar headphones, can't give you. At the same time, the price of less than five hundred yuan, but the standard is equipped with three kinds of tuning catheters, this operation is unheard of, and the game is directly full.
