The moon season is the national flower of the United States. Americans believe that the season symbolizes love, peace, friendship, courage and dedication. As a non-profit educational organization, the American Monthly Association is committed to the cultivation of the monthly season and the promotion of the culture of the month.
In 1986, then-U.S. President Ronald Reagan signed a bill of Congress declaring the monthly season the legal national flower of the United States
The Association has more than 300 local monthly members in the United States, serving its members through educational programs, rich publications and continuous scientific research.

Most of the association's members are home gardening enthusiasts who want to continuously expand their knowledge of the culture of the month. Many members are also happy to participate in monthly competitions, photo contests and other monthly and seasonal related activities, the American Monthly Association has formulated the rules and standards of these competitions, and has formulated a schedule of various meetings and activities related to the monthly season in the United States, so as to popularize the knowledge of the monthly season for monthly enthusiasts of all ages.
Headquartered near the Gardens of the American Rose Center in Shreveport, Louisiana, the Society's 118-acre monthly center grows more than 400 varieties and 20,000 plants (both modern and classical).

Every December, the Association celebrates Christmas at the Christmas in Roseland Event at the American Quarters Center, which has been held for 38 sessions.
