Chairman Mao lit a cigarette, his expression was serious and he did not say a word, and Ye Zilong on the side wanted to comfort Chairman Mao, but he did not know how to open his mouth. After about a few minutes, Chairman Mao slowly said to Ye Zilong: "War always requires sacrifices. ”
At this time, Chairman Mao had to bear great sorrow and think about how to tell his daughter-in-law Liu Siqi that Mao Anying had sacrificed. Thinking about it, Chairman Mao decided not to tell Liu Siqi for the time being, and every time Liu Siqi asked about Mao Anying's whereabouts, Chairman Mao told her that Mao Anying had gone on a business trip to another place.
It is okay to hide it for a while, but it is impossible to hide it for a long time. One day, Hou Bo, the leader of the figure group responsible for leading the photography, gave Liu Siqi a photo of Mao Anying wearing a volunteer uniform. Liu Siqi suddenly understood that her husband Mao Anying did not go on a business trip at all, but went to the Korean battlefield. Chairman Mao knew that he could not hide it any longer this time, so he told Liu Siqi the truth about Mao Anying's sacrifice. Liu Siqi was not mentally prepared at that time, and when he suddenly heard the news, he cried in front of Chairman Mao.
Chairman Mao's eyes were also moist, and he kept comforting Liu Siqi so that she should not be too sad, and Mao Anying had sacrificed for the country and the people.
In order not to let Liu Siqi be overly sad, Chairman Mao decided to change the living environment for Liu Siqi, so as not to see things and think of people. Under Chairman Mao's arrangement, Liu Siqi went to Moscow in September 1955 for further study, and during his two years in Moscow, Liu Siqi used grief as a driving force to serve the country, and while studying seriously, he wrote letters to Chairman Mao.
Chairman Mao regarded Liu Siqi as his daughter, and he wrote in his letter to Liu Siqi: "Dear Siqi daughter, I have received the letter you wrote to me, and you should pay attention to your body there, study well, and don't miss us too much. ”

Chairman Mao began to find suitable objects for Liu Siqi. One day, when Liu Zhen in the courtyard of the Air Force Academy was reporting to Chairman Mao on his work, Chairman Mao mentioned to him the matter of helping Liu Siqi find a partner for him, and Liu Zhen said to Chairman Mao: "Our Air Force Academy has a teacher named Yang Maozhi, who is honest and self-motivated, and he has returned from studying abroad with Su Li.
Chairman Mao was naturally very happy that someone introduced liu Siqi to him, and he immediately let people know about Yang Maozhi's situation.
Yang Maozhi, a native of Tangshan, Hebei Province, is 30 years old this year, two years younger than Liu Siqi. Parents were ordinary fishermen. Yang Maozhi went to the Soviet Red Flag Air Force Academy in 1954 for further study and is currently a regimental cadre.
Chairman Mao was satisfied with Yang Maozhi's situation and held that Yang Maozhi was a young man with progressive thinking. So Chairman Mao wrote a letter to Liu Siqi's mother, Zhang Wenqiu, explaining about the object of liu Siqi's introduction and telling her about Yang Maozhi.
Zhang Wenqiu was also worried about his daughter Liu Siqi, and was deeply moved to see Chairman Mao take the initiative to introduce liu Siqi to him.
In February 1962, Liu Siqi and Yang Maozhi got married in Beijing. On the occasion of the big wedding, Chairman Mao was very happy, and he personally wrote two poems, "Bu Suanzi Yongmei" and "Seven Laws and Comrade Guo Moruo" and gave them to Liu Siqi as a souvenir. At the same time, Chairman Mao also asked Ye Zilong to send 300 yuan as a dowry.
In October 1963, Liu Siqi and Yang Maozhi gave birth to their first child, which happened to be a boy, so the two discussed and named it "Yang Xiaoying" in honor of Mao Anying.

Chairman Mao missed Mao Anying very much in his later years, and once asked Liu Siqi to have the opportunity to go to North Korea to see Mao Anying. Liu Siqi never forgot Chairman Mao's advice, and in 2006 she went to North Korea to pay homage to Mao Anying.

In May 2010, Liu Siqi once again came to the North Korean Volunteer Martyrs' Cemetery to pay homage to Mao Anying.
On January 7, 2022, Liu Siqi died of illness at the age of 92.
