Vr game Blade & Sorcery released U11 update testing

French game maker WarpFrog recently announced that an update to its VR game Blade & Sorcery U11 is already available as beta on Steam VR and Oculus PCs. Developers express expectations to collect important bug reports and feedback from the update beta. The developers also released a long video tour of the new features available in the Beta of the Blade & Sorcery U11 update. So far, there is no word on when these improvements will be released.

It is understood that "Blade & Sorcery" is a VR fighting game developed by French game manufacturer WarpFrog, and the U11 update of the game looks very good, including expanding the magic system, improving the stealth mechanism, and further improving the PC quality. The Blade & Sorcery U11 update is expected to bring a series of improvements in the coming months, expanding the way players play.

1. Expand the magic system

As the studio noted in its preview earlier this month, Blade & Sorcery will overhaul the magic system, starting with a redo of the visual and sound effects of a series of incantations, which will also be tweaked.

Developer Warpfrog said its gaming magic system was designed with the goal of making Fire a "direct damage spell" and Gravity a "practical and versatile feature," while Lighting leaned toward "crowd control." To do this, the Fire Flame Spell will allow the player to unleash a "Spiral Pill"-style energy-storing move. The staff is also different, with players being able to combine their fire spells with the staff and use it to throw or fire fireballs.

As for gravity spells, players will now be affected by their own gravity bubbles, which allows them to reach higher heights, especially when combined with the new gravity jump feature. When the player fires a gravity spell with both hands from the ground, it provides a boost jump, similarly with both fingers pointing downwards to slowly descend and glide. Combining gravity and a staff, you can freely control items of different weights, such as manipulating boulders to throw attacks at enemies.

As for the combination of the Staff and lightning lightning, the arc you generate can stay for a while and cause enemies to stun. In addition, firing lightning bolts toward the ground can create shock waves that stun enemies around you.

The studio also previewed a brand new "Soul" spell, but said it might not make it into the game until the U11 update.

2. Improved stealth, armor system, etc

The expanded stealth mechanism will make the sneaky style of play more feasible. Warpfrog noted that the AI has been redesigned so that the game can more realistically respond to players who try to sneak attacks. For example, if you throw an object near an enemy, they will realize that something is wrong. Others include finding corpses, finding players with flashlights, or hearing overheard sounds, among others.

The new light-based visibility system means players will be able to dive into dark areas more reliably, especially when crouching. Similarly, corpses hidden in dark areas will be harder to see by enemies.

The armor system will also appear in the game, allowing players to equip themselves with separate armor. Players will be able to mix and match various parts, and the studio says that once the game store is released, players can earn money from the game to buy better armor, which will play an important role. In addition, the developers are working on a inventory system so that players can save loot found in dungeons.

In addition, player body customization in U11 will also be improved, with plans that allow players to customize the face and skin tone of their avatars. Improvements to enemy animations are also underway, with the goal of making ai more realistic parry defenses while reducing reliance on back-jump dodging. But it's unclear exactly how many improvements will be incorporated into the U11 version.

3. Improved image quality on PC

With the U11 update, Blade & Sorcery players on PC will receive additional rewards. According to the studio's latest trailer, the environment visuals are undergoing some major improvements (which won't be brought into the Quest version of the game).

One of the main changes is lighting technology. In short, everything in the environment can now receive dynamic real-time illumination from a wider variety of light sources. For the U11 version, static objects are able to receive dynamic lighting from almost every light source in the game, most notably from the sun, and the result is more vivid and clear than ever.

In addition to the lighting improvements, the studio has done a lot of work to enhance the look of bricks and stones in the game. Players will see more geometric detail in the game's masonry structure, with the studio noting that "these bricks are true 3D independent bricks that can interact, collide, climb, etc.", not just inlay.

For players who are worried about performance, Warpfrog said that they are extra careful about optimizing the graphics, so the performance level is still roughly the same as before.

Studio Warpfrog hasn't revealed the exact release date of blade & Sorcery's U11 update, but developers have already begun bug testing, the last step before U11 debuts, and the studio also plans to bring U12 in Q3 quarter. Warpfrog has previously said that the update may be released on PC first, and then released to blade & Sorcery: Nomad, the quest version of the game, in the coming months.
