On February 24, 1994, in the central city of Gloucester in southwest England, four police officers arrived at a small three-story building at 25 Cromwell Street with excavation tools and knocked on the door to find the owner of the house: the Westes.
The man, Fred West, was not at home, and the hostess came out of the door, Rosemary West, who had an extremely bad attitude and was unwilling to cooperate. The police showed her a search warrant, and they would then dig into the house's garden to find the whereabouts of Heather West, rosemary's eldest daughter.
In 1993 (also reported to be the summer of 1992), while a police officer was patrolling Cromwell Street, the Westes were charged by neighbors with several young children who said their family had child abuse problems. Subsequently, the police contacted the social workers of the child welfare agency to investigate the matter and found that the Children of the West family had indeed suffered different degrees of abuse and sexual abuse from their parents.
And, there's another child, Fred West's first child, Rosemary, the daughter of 23, Heather West. The last person to meet her was in 1987, when she was 16 years old. However, the Westes never reported the incident to the police, telling the police that Heather had run away from home with the addict.
However, the West children told the social worker that their parents often lectured them that if they did not obey and eat well, they would bury them in the backyard garden like Heather.

After conducting an in-depth investigation but still finding Heather's whereabouts, the police decided to take a gamble and applied for a search warrant to excavate the back garden of West's house. After digging for hours and being too tired to stand up and find nothing, they had to find a small excavator to take over the excavation, and they dug a large pit in the back garden and did not find any human tissue or bone.
However, the police did not give up, but set up lighting equipment for overnight work, and finally, the next day, the skeleton of a suspected human body was dug up. Subsequently, a suspected human femur was dug up near a nearby 60-centimeter-deep patio.
As the excavations progressed, more and more human skeletons were found, making the police realize that there was more than one body buried in the garden, and finally the police found a total of 9 skeletons, all of which were women.

Confusing relationships
There is no doubt that these 9 bodies are inseparable from the Westes who rented the house. What kind of people are the Westes? How did these people die? Did they commit the crime together, or did they do it personally?
According to the book Secrets in the Garden, Fred West was born on 29 September 1941 in a small town in the countryside of County Hereford called Marchmark. Fred's mother, Daisy, had a total of 8 children, two of whom died prematurely.
Fred is the second oldest in the family, due to the death of her sister, Daisy is particularly doting on this son, she always let Fred sleep with her, and likes to hug and touch Fred, so the morbid mother-child relationship has always accompanied Fred's growth, resulting in his understanding of sexuality become very deformed.
Fred's father was even more outrageous, his relationship between men and women was very chaotic, under the father's teaching, Fred's attitude towards the relationship between men and women was very casual, dropping out of school at the age of 15, and began to play human like his father, making friends with a variety of women, including a street woman, who had been dating for several months, and he had also been accused of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl and causing her to become pregnant.

Rosemary, 12 years younger than Fred, was born on November 29, 1953, in the coastal town of North Devon. She was the fifth child, her father was a duplicitous, very amiable to outsiders, but very rude to her family, Rosemary's mother and the family's children were often abused.
Rosemary's mother suffered from severe depression and underwent electroencephalotherapy while pregnant with Rosemary, and as a result, Rosemary was born with some sluggishness, so she was often bullied by her siblings at home.

In 1969, Rosemary and Fred West met at the bus stop, when Fred had married and had children, his wife was named Catherine Costero (also known as Reina), and after a year of marriage, Reina gave birth to a daughter Chameyne, however, the biological father was not Fred (for reasons later), and the next year, Reina gave birth to a daughter, named Anne Maria.
However, after meeting Rosemary, Fred left Rena with his two daughters and formed a new family with Rosemary.
Why did Fred choose Rosemary? Is it because she is young and beautiful?
Of course not, in fact, because Rosemary obeyed Fred and was willing to accept his utterly absurd acts in the relationship between men and women. For example, watching the wife have sex with other men, which is why the first daughter born to ex-wife Rena, Chameyne, is not fred the father.

Allegations of sexual assault
Shortly after Rosemary gave birth to her second child, May West, the family moved to a small three-story building at 25 Cromwell Street. However, Chameyne, the eldest daughter born to Fred's ex-wife Reina, disappeared, and only the second daughter, Anne Maria, moved to a new home.
After the arrest of the Westes in 1994, the police discovered after an investigation that Chameyne and his birth mother, Rena, had been killed as early as 1971, and that Chameyne was buried in his original residence, the house where West had moved, while Chameyne's birth mother, Rena, was buried in the suburbs.
Although Fred confessed that he had killed both Chameyne and his ex-wife, Reyna, the medical examiner, after examining Chameyne's bones, found that when Chameyne died, Fred was in jail for theft, so the killer could not have been him.
The police therefore deduced that it was actually her stepmother Rosemary who killed Chamayne, and the real reason for the move at that time may have been because Rosemary killed Chamaine and buried her in the courtyard of the house, so she did not want to live here anymore. After Fred learned that his daughter Chamein had been killed by his wife Rosemary, for fear of exposure, he tricked Reina, who came to find her daughter, into killing her in the suburbs.
As to why Rosemary killed Chameleon, Judith, who had lived in their home for a while, revealed in an interview that she was dating Fred's brother John West, and she thought that Camey was killed because she had provoked Rosemary to be angry. West's neighbors had also seen Rosemary chasing Chamaine with a wooden spoon.
Because these two killings and dumping of corpses were not detected, the Westes began to become lawless, in order to satisfy the special "sexual habits" of the two, they began to look for easy to seduce women, tricked those victims into home captivity, sexual assault, played enough and then killed, and buried in the back garden.

Carolyn Owens, a surviving victim, met the Westes while hitchhiking in 1972.
She recalled that the Westes gave her the impression of being very warm and friendly when they hitchhiked, because she was about the same age as Rosemary, so the two quickly talked together, and when they got out of the car, Rosemary offered to hire her as a nanny for the children.

When she moved into West's house, she found that the family was not normal, and the man Fred often confronted his wife Rosemary in front of her, and he actually told Caroline that their 8-year-old daughter Anne Maria was not a virgin (Anne later admitted that she was raped by her father Fred when she was 8 years old).
After living at West's house for about a month, Fred and Rosemary unexpectedly offered Caroline a threesome, frightening Caroline to resign and leave. But a month later, when Caroline met the couple again, she was attacked by them, and they kidnapped her home, beat and sexually assaulted her, and threatened her:
"When we've had enough, we'll kill you and bury you under the streets of Gloucester, where hundreds of women have been buried and the police won't find them and won't find you."
In order to survive, Caroline had to pretend to make overtures to the Westes, and then looked for an opportunity to escape from the terrible house.
Outrageously, when Caroline went to the police station to report the crime, the police actually said that Caroline must have voluntarily had a relationship with the Westes. In the end, the Westes were only fined £100.
In this way, the police released a pair of serial murderer demons and left them at large for 22 years.

Daughter missing
At the end of February 1994, the police were supposed to search for Heather, the daughter of the Westes, but dug up nine bones in the garden, which shocked the whole of Britain, and the media rushed to expose the perverted demon couple.
Soon, the police found the body of Chamain, the daughter born to Fred's ex-wife Rena, followed by the bodies of Reyna and another woman, a total of 12 victims, all women.
The police announced that the victims were not dressed at the time of their deaths, their bodies were bound by clotheslines and other items, their mouths were stuffed with clothes, and they were dismembered after death and buried in the back garden.

One of the victims, Linda Goff, lost contact with her family after she left home on 19 April 1973, when she was actually introduced by her friend Ben Staniland to work as a nanny at the West's house.
Soon after working, Linda Gough told Ben Stanilan that the West often invited her to play a threesome. Soon after, Linda Gough disappeared, and Ben Staniland went to the Westes' house to look for someone, and was told by Rosemary that Linda Gough was driven away because she was bad for the children, and they did not know where she had gone.
Linda Gough's mother, Joan Gough, who also went to West's house to look for someone after her daughter disappeared, recalled that when she saw Rosemary wearing her daughter Linda's clothes, she asked Rosemary how she could have these clothes.
Rosemary replied that she had stayed behind when Linda had left.
It turned out that Linda Gough did not leave West's house at all, but was killed by the Westers and buried in the back garden.

There was also a victim named Shirley Robinson, who was identified by the forensic doctor as pregnant. During interrogation, Fred confessed that Shirley was 8 months pregnant and that the child belonged to him. When Shirley Robinson disappeared, the Westes announced that Shirley had gone to Germany to see her relatives.

After being arrested, Fred kept overturning his confession, while his wife, Rosemary, insisted that she was completely unaware and blamed all the blame on her husband Fred. In the end, Fred suddenly confessed his guilt and hanged himself in prison with a sheet woven into a rope. There are two speculations about why he committed suicide:
One is that he wants to take all the blame and protect his wife Rosemary; but there is another theory that when Fred learns that his wife Rosemary has pushed all the crimes away, he feels betrayed, is greatly stimulated, and commits suicide in anger.
After Fred's death, Rosemary was charged with murdering 10 women (as evidenced). In October 1995, Rosemary was convicted of murder and sentenced to ten life sentences. In court, the judge said to her, "You will never be released."

In 2018, The Westes' daughter, May West, published a memoir, Loveas Always, Mumxxx, in which her children were often locked in basements as children, and that girls had nightmares of being sexually assaulted by their fathers. The most terrifying thing is to watch your parents kill people and split the body in this house. If it weren't for the 1994 police digging up her sister's skeleton in the garden, this nightmare might have lasted a lifetime.
Rosemary West is still serving her sentence in prison. According to British media reports, there are many people who worship Rosemary, and she receives letters and gifts from fans around the world every year, which is really outrageous.
The absurd growth environment has bred this pair of absurd and perverted murderous demons, who wantonly indulge their desires, torture and kill innocent women, and even their own daughters are not spared, really not even as good as animals.
