NetEase announced that it will open a new studio Jackalope Games in the United States, which will develop a new online multiplayer game, which is expected to land on console and PC platforms. The studio will remain independent and have creative autonomy, with the first project fully funded by NetEase.
Jackalope Studio is headquartered in Austin, Texas, and is led by Jack Emmert, a veteran developer in the MMO field. He served as CEO of Cryptic Studios and later as head of development at Daybreak, where he worked on projects such as Star Trek Online, DC Universe Online, and Neverwinter Online.
