Brown and Jones were gone, and Willis was coming
This offseason in Tannhill is not good!
Tannihill: Coaching Willis is not my task
The Titans did a lot of maneuvering last week, two of which indirectly affected quarterback Ryan Tannehill.
The Titans traded outside receiver A.J. Brown to the Hawks in the first round and selected University of Arkansas receiver Treylon Burks in the No. 18 pick. The Titans then traded upwards in three rounds, selecting quarterback Malik Willis.
"We are competitive." Tanehir said Tuesday, "We'll analyze the same footage and do the same training." I don't feel like mentoring him is my task, but it's nice if he can learn anything from me. ”
"I texted Malik as soon as he was selected. I didn't know it beforehand, and so did the A.J. thing. The team will do what they think is in the best interest of the team, and Malik and I are not at odds. We're trying to add talent and helpers to the team. ”
"I was shocked." Tanehir told Brown's deal, "When I first knew, I thought 'it's not true, it won't be, it's just a rumor'. I talked to A.J. afterwards and learned that this was true. I slept poorly that night and always thought it was just a nightmare. ”
The Falcons signed defensive forward Grady Garrett a three-year contract extension
On Tuesday, according to NFL Network reporters, the Falcons will renew a 3-year contract with defensive striker Grady Jarrett, including $34.5 million in guarantees and up to $17 million in annual salaries.
Garrett's current contract will continue until the end of the 2025 season, with a total salary of $67 million (including 2022 salary).
Garrett is also the second Falcon to receive a long contract in the offseason after left-winger Jake Matthews. The Falcons are currently in the process of restructuring the defensive front, signing Rashaan Evans in place of the departing Foye Oluokun, as well as Lorenzo Carter and Vincent Taylor.
Garrett was a five-rounder show for the Falcons in 2015 and became a starter in his second year of his career. In the 2019 and 2020 seasons, Garrett was selected for the Pro Bowl list. He played in 110 games for the Falcons in his career, starting 95 of them, completing 359 tackles, 26.5 tackles, 5 forced drops and 3 missing balls.
When do you think Willis will be the starter?
