Dustin Yellin, a Brooklyn-based artist who draws and pastes his ideas in intricate compositions between layers of glass, each prop is a relic of our culture, and his work is made up of torn and discarded materials and substances of our time. He then arranged the things between the cascading glass panes. When these glasses are stacked on top of each other, an intricate three-dimensional sculpture is created. They mimic multiple layers of our consciousness—as Yellin describes, many parts of who we become ourselves. Yellin unveiled a new layered sculptural marvel that he called psychogeography. He tells each story with mixed-material stereoscopic models.

When we walk, we often pick up leaves, pebbles, shells, confetti, newspaper clippings, sea glass blocks, seed pods... Something that draws our eyes and hearts in a way that longs to be remembered. They create a layer of memory, a layer of mind. Although physically collectible is less valuable, we also do so in urban environments, and this pastime has a name: "psychogeography.".
From a distance, we marvel at each complete sculpture—a huge piece of glass with an ethereal image at its core. Upon closer inspection, we find fragments of Yellin's consciousness—strangely spotted objects and newspaper clippings—that encompass everything from flower arrangements to dead rats to odd images cut from magazines.
Yellin called his work "sculptural paintings." When he first explored the subject, he created his work with resin and poured it on top of his collage. But after starting to focus on the health risks of the material, he began experimenting with glass, developing this layering technique to achieve his vision.
On the one hand, the characters in the Psychogeography series are like an autobiography because they contain things that Yellin encountered in his own life journey, and they are things that once belonged to others. So, they really represent a common biography—a collective unconscious.
