Nikolo Balkanski (1957-), American master painter. He began painting very early and graduated at the age of 18 from the Secondary Special Arts School in Sofia, Bulgaria. At the age of 21, he held his first solo exhibition, Time and Man, which featured portraits of a number of national actors, poets and politicians, organized by his father, who was a lawyer, writer and poet. This unique exhibition won a lot of attention for the young artist, who soon continued his studies at the Art Academy in Sofia, specializing in painting. After moving to Finland with his parents, he studied at the University of Helsinki.
