Let's pay attention to the recent series of actions by the Taiwan side. At the end of April, Taiwan's defense department released a report on the comparison of the superiority and inferiority of cross-strait military strength, which held that the PLA has "eight major advantages" in terms of ground force equipment, weapon autonomy, warship manufacturing, submarine combat strength, and combat mechanism and air combat, and for the first time recognized that the PLA is superior to Taiwan in terms of land, sea, and air combat effectiveness.
Regarding this report, what The Elder Lu would like to say is:
First, it should be said that Taiwan's defense department has finally stopped bowing its head and being an ostrich and acknowledging that the PLA's combat capability is stronger than Taiwan's; this is a fact known to the whole world, and the Taiwan side has finally faced reality. And to tell the truth, the PLA's military combat preparations are by no means just aimed at the Taiwan Strait. It is also very normal that Taiwan's combat strength and the mainland are not on the same level.
Second, Taiwan's defense department was obviously stimulated by the reality of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict to make such adjustments. Because Taiwan's sense of substitution has always been strong, the conflict began by claiming that "Ukraine today, Taiwan Island tomorrow." The Russian-Ukrainian conflict is an armed confrontation with unbalanced combat strength. At present, with the support of the United States and other Western countries, Ukraine has not fallen too far behind, on the contrary, it has dragged russia's footsteps and turned the blitzkrieg into a protracted war, which has impressed the world. Therefore, on the one hand, the DPP authorities in Taiwan want to create a so-called "mainland military threat" through similar comparisons, win the sympathy of the United States, and win more assistance; on the other hand, they want to emphasize that their own defense forces are weak, they need to increase military spending, and increase their defense reserve support for "resisting reunification by force."
Third, Lao Lu noticed a statement by Chen Ming-tung, taiwan's military intelligence chief. He claimed that Taiwan also has the so-called "four-point advantage" over the mainland, including "geopolitical superiority," "external ally superiority," "high-tech industrial superiority," and the so-called "advantage of 'one life on the same island.'" This speaks out of the political plot of the DPP authorities in Taiwan to blackmail foreigners for self-respect, collude with external forces, and even "seek independence by force" at the expense of the People of Taiwan. This point is of great concern to us. The "Taiwan independence" elements will rely on the support of the United States, Japan, and other external forces to stubbornly resist, and they will threaten the mainland with Taiwan's industry and people's lives as hostages.
This concept of "Taiwan independence" elements has recently been increasingly displayed. From vigorously engaging in the so-called "combination of training and combat readiness," to conducting "joint drills" to simulate the PLA's attack on Taiwan, and then to distributing the "National Defense Manual," we have gradually created tension among the people on the island. In the "Han Guang Exercise 38, which is to be carried out next, Taiwan's defense departments will implement such tactics as "improving combat strength and preserving combat strength" and "the total strength of the 'whole people' to support military operations." In wartime, they will store key weapons and equipment in Taiwan's residential areas, so that Taiwan will become a battlefield everywhere and fight street battles with the PLA; and the People's Liberation Army will be regarded as hostages and human shields, so that the PLA will not be able to fight well and dare not fight.
And we have also noticed that the Americans, who are regarded as the "savior" by Taiwan, have also proposed the so-called "little porcupine" plan, which was proposed by Michelle Flournoy, who served as the US deputy defense secretary during the Obama era. Some American scholars have also written a report entitled "Eight New Points of the Porcupine Strategy," using the so-called Ukrainian experience to play a "guiding chess game" against Taiwan, demanding that Taiwan proceed from a large number of details and make combat readiness in eight aspects: anti-missile, air defense, maritime refusal, coastal refusal, mine warfare, information warfare, civil defense systems, and flexible reserves of critical infrastructure. Help Taiwan become a so-called "porcupine that suffocates the dragon." Among them, they also advocate arming Taiwan civilians and delaying the advance of the Platon Army. Taiwan was asked to "engage in months of bloody fighting to consolidate meaningful gains before U.S. and allied reinforcements arrive."
It is conceivable that in order to use force to seek "independence" and "resist reunification by force," the Taiwan authorities, the United States, and other Western countries will certainly collude and cooperate to stubbornly resist to the end for the sake of their own selfish interests. In the event of war, they will not hesitate to kidnap the people of Taiwan and use 23 million people in Taiwan as hostages and cannon fodder to increase the difficulty of military operations by the PLA. On this point, the people of Taiwan must not be deceived and must have a sober understanding.
