With the return of the Chinese team in the Asian division of the 2022 World Cup Qualifiers, several naturalized players of Brazilian descent went to the Brazilian League, and the once vigorous and noisy "naturalization movement" finally fell silent. Although China's naturalized player road has failed, naturalized players are indeed a good medicine to improve the overall strength of the national team in a certain position or even the whole team in a short period of time.

The German national team 20 years ago faced the dilemma of alternating the old and the new and the talent gap. In the 1998 World Cup, the elderly German team was defeated by Croatia with a devastating 3-0 score, stopping in the quarterfinals. Although Germany finished runners-up at the 2002 Korea-Japan World Cup, the embarrassing situation of two consecutive Euro 2000 and 2004 group stage exits still left Germany's chariot in disgrace. But during this time, the addition of naturalized player Asamoah helped germany out of the difficult years.

Born in Ghana, Asamoah played both as a striker and as a right winger, spent most of his career at Schalke 04 and was the first black player in the German national team. Asamoah's physical fitness is very good, his body is strong, his speed is also very fast, and he is known as a "buffalo". Asamoah's technique, although not very good, was also first-class in the German national team that year.

Asamoah made his first appearance for Germany in a 2–0 friendly against Slovakia on 29 May 2001 and scored a goal. Asamoah then represented Germany in the 2002 World Cup in Korea, the 2006 World Cup in Germany and the 2005 Confederations Cup. Asamoah made 43 appearances for Germany, with six goals and six assists. Asamoah was the main substitute for the German team that year, and was a very tactical pawn.
