In 2003, Wang Qi obtained a master's degree from the State University of New York, and began to engage in architectural design work after returning to China, and the "Meng Minwei Humanities Building" of Tsinghua University and the "New Civil Engineering Department" of Tsinghua University, which have been put into use, are Wang Qi's works. With 25 years of experience and insight in the field of architectural design, Wang Qi began to devote herself to painting creation in 2019. Perhaps it is precisely out of the grasp of sensitive issues in the architectural profession that Wang Qi will focus on traditional Chinese ancient architecture.

Wang Qi is both a microscopic insight into social change and a sensitive art creator. He observed that in the process of urbanization, "a large number of ancient buildings and traditional blocks were demolished and replaced by modern buildings with facades wrapped in glass curtain walls". Those only remaining cultural monuments have become an extremely precious urban landscape at the intersection of ancient and modern times in China and the West. Therefore, his works always imply very specific traditional resources in the seemingly abstract treatment, the vivid expression of color, and the urban aesthetic situation.

As Wang Qi said, "The glass curtain wall is a mirror of reality, and the history of the city is the mirror image in which it is reflected." With the help of the illusion of garden architecture on the glass curtain wall, his work explores many issues such as East and West, tradition and modernity, reality and illusion. Critic Gao Ling said: "Wang Qi takes the canvas as a mirror, takes his own life experience and traditional Chinese architectural scene as the theme, and changes it with the architect's way of thinking, he seems to add filters to many objective objects, personalize and artistic expression, and find a very good form of artistic expression between architects and artists." ”

All the works exhibited in this exhibition have been launched to the national copyright chain, which is a key demonstration project of the copyright chain of the national blockchain innovation application pilot, and has received strong support from the Capital Copyright Association and the Copyright Chain National Operation Center, which is of great significance for the protection and extension of intellectual property rights.
