The May Day holiday begins with mountain sparrows, grey-headed buntings and stone chickens

The May Day holiday has begun, more and more forest birds have recently come to Beijing, and there are many records of forest birds in the Yuanmingyuan, Shahe and Temple of Heaven. Unfortunately, the epidemic has recurred, so try to avoid going to places with many people. So, I decided to go to the black cottage village in Changping to explore, it is not a scenic spot, there should be no one.

As soon as they got there, the East Asian stone wagtail (ji) and the gray wagtail jumped out, and the northern squirrel enjoyed elm money in the tree as breakfast.

Walking along a path up the hill, the cries of sparrows came from the trees on the side of the road, and looked closely: "Mountain sparrows! ", the feathers on the male bird are very gorgeous. The first sparrow I saw today turned out to be a mountain sparrow! I watched it for a long time, and it didn't seem to be afraid of me, and it still "looked" at me. A mountain bird seemed to feel left out in the cold, screaming and jumping out of the grass next to it, attracting our attention.

On a tall poplar tree, a yellow finch stood at the tip of the tree and looked east and west, and a few more flew in a moment, and the lively and lively mountain sparrows also flew over to join in the fun. A pair of northern red-tailed plovers flew around, with bark in their mouths, presumably building a nest.

The birds on the mountain were in general condition, so we went back the same way. There were a few more birds on that poplar tree, were those yellow finches back? Take a closer look, and it's a small peacebird! I'm very happy, this is the first time I've seen PEACEbirds this year, and I thought I'd miss them this spring. (There are only two kinds of PEACEbirds in China, peacebirds and small peacebirds, how to identify them can be seen in this article Waiting for my class). They sit in rows on the branches, combing their feathers, and the red tail feathers are particularly dazzling. A few more flew in a moment, and a total of 22 small peacebirds landed in the trees.

Descend the hill to the creek by the side of the road, where the grey-headed bunting, grey-headed wagtail and Far Eastern are all active.

The morning passed quickly, where to go in the afternoon? Go to Qianling Mountain and touch the stone chicken! I have not been able to find stone chickens in other places, nor have I specifically gone to The Thousand Spirit Mountain, a place where they are more stable, to find them, this time I finally had the opportunity, excited that I did not eat.

When I came to Qianling Mountain, I walked all the way in and observed the rock squirrels on the cliffs and the mountain hemp lizards running on the road.

Without paying attention, three black shadows startled from the side of the road. "Stone chickens, three!" The stone chicken that had just foraged on the side of the road was startled by us to the cliff next to it. I quickly raised my camera and kept pressing. We sat on the ground and quietly watched the stone chicken "climb" up the steep cliff.
