Memoirs of a Debauched Woman, also known as "Gardenie Hill", is a literary work that appeared in England in the mid-eighteenth century, written by John Cleland and published in 1749.

Therefore, since its publication, it has become a banned book. In 1749, British prosecutors found the book in a London bookstore and immediately ordered it to be destroyed, and the author was sentenced to an annual fine of 10 pounds: no repeat offense. In 1821, it was banned in Massachusetts. In 1963, the book was published publicly in the United States, attacked by moral groups, and the court finally ruled to uphold freedom of the press and approve the book for public distribution. In November of the same year, British police seized one hundred and seventy-one copies of the paperback copy of "Gardenie Hill" published by the Mayflower Company at MacKirk Inc. in London.
