Azov Regiment: History of the Defensive Battle of Mariupol
From the beginning of the war to the present - the history of the struggle of the Mariupol soldiers "Azov", they have been nicknamed "Steel".
The Russians planned to occupy Mariupol in three days. The Azov Regiment engaged an overwhelming enemy in a battle of more than 14,000 men.
Despite enemy aircraft, heavy bombs, overwhelming enemy and naval artillery, the defenders stood between the enemy and all of Ukraine.
Since the beginning of the full-scale offensive of the occupiers, the Azov regiment has been killed: according to confirmed data - 1157 enemy manpower (in addition 840 - according to unconfirmed data).
Health losses - 520 people have been confirmed (there are also 3150 people - according to unconfirmed data).
Enemy Equipment:
Tanks - 49 were destroyed, 29 were damaged.
Armored personnel carriers - 23 destroyed and 24 damaged.
BMP - 36 destroyed and 24 damaged.
BMD-5 destroyed.
Raptor Ships - 1 ship destroyed.
SU-25-1 Damage.
BBM "Typhoon" - 2 people were destroyed and 2 people were damaged.
"Tigers" - 3 destroyed and 2 damaged.
"Bobcats" - 2 destroyed and 2 damaged.
Trucks - 25 were destroyed and 8 were damaged
In addition, many other enemy equipment and weapons were destroyed and damaged.
