At the critical moment, Trump withstood the pressure to fight the last two sets, in which he twice turned the red ball into the bag and scored in the decider to establish the victory.
In the other semi-final, O'Sullivan currently leads Higgins 15-9, with the fourth stage kicking off at 2:00.
