In Battle's eyes, his father was a great hero, "he repaid the country to the party, did not fail in his mission, like a flag, always flying in my heart."
On the evening of August 8, 1991, Battle's father, Sun Zhanming, was killed in order to rescue two plumbing workers who were suffocated in a manhole more than ten meters deep. That year, the martyr Sun Zhanming was only 28 years old, and Battle was not yet 1 year old.
His father's outstanding deeds and the medals and honors he received during his lifetime have always influenced Battle. When you grow up, you are faced with the first major choice in your life, whether to attend a sports academy or become a firefighter? Battle decided to become a firefighter like his father.

One day in August 2016, a mass of people looking for sheep in a field accidentally fell into a dry well, and Battle and his comrades rushed to the scene. History always bears a striking resemblance, and that dry well rescue was no small challenge and test for Battle.

Battle quickly launched a rescue, but the hook on the air breathing apparatus and the friction on the well wall caused deformation, causing his body to fall suddenly. The newly established Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge construction team has only 40 people, but it undertakes the most complex preliminary work in the history of China's transportation construction, and a large number of complex and cumbersome transactional work needs to be done. Jing Qiang was the youngest in the team, and naturally took on these trivial tasks.

After three months of international research, Jing Qiang and his team proposed a new procurement plan, so that domestic stainless steel reinforcement production enterprises have the opportunity to compete on the same stage with international counterparts and compete fairly, saving nearly 100 million yuan in construction costs for the country.

Learning processing software during the day, consulting literature, deriving formulas, writing code at night... Qin Ning often repeatedly tested a dozen times in order to solve a program problem and debug a parameter, often so busy that he forgot the time, until his neck was sore and dizzy before he got up and rested for a while.
Once working overtime until late at night, Qin Ning drove home, because he could not see the road clearly, the wheel suddenly sank into the pit, and the tire was punctured. After getting out of the car, the beam of light cast by the headlights of the car gave her inspiration: the brightness and range of one lamp are limited, and multiple lights can be superimposed together to increase the brightness and expand the range of illumination.
Inspired by this, Qin Ning independently developed a high-precision imaging software module, similar to turning a single beam imaging into multiple beam imaging, improving the imaging accuracy.
This research won the second prize of Shandong Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award in 2019. Qin Ning was also invited to give academic reports at international conferences such as the United States and Europe, and was highly recognized by industry experts at home and abroad.

Fu Qiaomei:
Explore the history of East Asian populations with paleogenetics
In 2016, Fu Qiaomei officially returned to China. During her years abroad, she studied under Swent Päbo, the founder of the field of paleoDNA, and then did postdoctoral research in Germany and the United States. After completing her studies and achieving remarkable results in the industry, she chose to give up the superior conditions abroad to return to China, hoping to use cutting-edge ideas and methods to explore the evolutionary history of East Asia, especially the Chinese group, and contribute to the development of related fields in the mainland.
In fact, her path to ancient DNA research has not been smooth. Fu Qiaomei, who studied cultural relics protection technology as an undergraduate and specialized in bone research during her master's degree, can be said to be a layman in ancient DNA research when she travels to Germany. In order to obtain the possibility of reading a doctorate, it has become common to read a lot of literature and do experiments. This experience has allowed her to lose 20 pounds a month and has also allowed her to grow rapidly in the face of adversity.
In 2017, based on the genome of Tianyuandong people in China 40,000 years ago, Fu Qiaomei opened the situation for the study of ancient DNA in East Asian populations, revealing the diversity of East Asian prehistoric populations and the complexity of genetic history, and highlighting the urgent need to sample human samples from more different periods and regions in East Asia.
In 2020, through large-scale capture and sequencing of the ancient genomes of people in the north and south of China, Fu Qiaomei gradually unveiled the history of the north-south pattern, migration and spread of Chinese prehistoric populations, migration and mixing.
Figuring out "who we are and where we come from" is still the question that Fu Qiaomei has been committed to answering in her lifetime. Especially after extracting the first DNA of denisovans from the "soil" of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, Fu Qiaomei hopes to be able to find east Asians' own unique ancient humans in future explorations to fill the gaps in the genetic history of East Asian ancient humans. She looks forward to one day being able to write the genetic history of Chinese group of people in the DNA of ancient human remains, and make a Chinese contribution to the mapping of global human evolution.
