2022 Asian Championships: Sindu ended He Bingjiao's winning streak, and Weng Hongyang soared

The quarter-finals of the 2022 Asian Badminton Championships ended with world champion Sindhu beating China's He Bingjiao, who had recently been in great form, for the third consecutive time.

Ho has won two of her last three races – the German Open and the Korea Masters. But today Sindu got off to a strong start, taking the first set 21-9. He Bingjiao fought back and dragged the game into the decider. In the decider, Sindhu showed the strength of the world champion, playing steadily in the face of the opponent's pursuit of points, using rhythmic changes to move, and finally won 21-19.

In the semi-finals, Sindu will face St. Co.' world champion Akane Yamaguchi, who also plays Thailand's Lee Innings in three sets. Another semi-final will be played between China's Wang Zhiyi and South Korea's Ahn Seok-ying.

In the men's singles, China's Weng Hongyang defeated second seed Jin Ting and advanced to the semifinals. Weng Hongyang and Jin Ting fought in the first two sets to a 1-1 draw.

In the decider, Weng Hongyang took advantage of the changeable rhythm, speed change and sharper killing point to continuously gain an advantage, and finally defeated Jin Ting, expanding the number of consecutive wins in his international competitions this year to 11.

Women's doubles second seed Lee So-hee / Shin Seung-joon was defeated by the Japanese duo of Iwanaga Rei / Nakanishi Takaei 23-21 15-21 15-121.

World champion Luo Jianyou lost to Jonathan by a narrow margin of 20-22, 21-23.

Top seeds Chen Qingchen / Jia Yifan defeated The New Branch All England champions Naoya Matsuyama / Chiyo Shida 21-15 21-19.
