On April 26, the Chinese Nutrition Society issued the Dietary Guidelines for Chinese Residents (2022) (hereinafter referred to as the Guidelines), which provides the latest authoritative scientific basis for the balance of national dietary structure. The new version of the Guidelines proposes for the first time the "Oriental Healthy Diet Model" and introduces 8 dietary guidelines. It is worth noting that salmon as a high-quality protein for deep-sea fish has appeared for the first time in dietary guidelines.
Industry insiders believe that the high-quality protein of deep-sea fish represented by salmon will become the new favorite of the Chinese people's nutrition upgrade. As the only salmon listed company in China, Joyvo Foods has mastered the scarce resources upstream of salmon through the acquisition of Australis Seafoods, one of the world's top ten salmon producers, and currently has 96 aquaculture licenses. In the face of the upcoming market outbreak period of deep-sea fish, Joyvo Group will also embark on the "new snow slope" of national nutrition upgrading.
National nutrition upgrading, marine protein demand is urgent
With the continuous improvement of material living standards, the people's food consumption demand has gradually shifted from "what to eat well" to "what to eat right", and scientific dietary structure has increasingly become the focus of attention in the field of health. The Dietary Guidelines for Chinese Residents, which are guided by the National Health Commission and formulated by the Chinese Nutrition Society, were born and have become an important guiding document for the state to promote rational consumption of food and implement healthy Chinese reasonable diets. In 1989, the mainland issued the first draft of the Guidelines, and revised them three times in 1997, 2007 and 2016, all completed by the Chinese Nutrition Society, and issued by the former Ministry of Health and the former National Health and Family Planning Commission.
The new version of the Guidelines was revised in June 2020 and was finalized on 26 April 2022. Based on the latest nutritional scientific principles, combined with the relevant requirements of the current normalization of the epidemic prevention and control and the prevention and control of catering waste, the new version of the "Guide" brings together nearly 100 experts to reach a scientific consensus on the basis of full research on the changes in the dietary structure and nutritional health status of mainland residents, and has been compiled, providing the latest authoritative basis for residents' healthy food consumption and food industry development.
The new version of the "Guidelines" points out that the dietary structure of mainland residents is in a period of change, most people are still mainly based on livestock meat in protein acquisition, and the average intake of fish and shrimp by residents is still far from the recommended amount of the previous version of the "Guidelines". The data shows that the average intake of fish and shrimp per capita on the mainland from 2015 to 2017 was 24.3g/day, which has not increased significantly over the years, and less than one-third of adults can achieve an average daily intake of more than 40g of fish and shrimp. Since fish and shrimp are the main food source of Omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (including DHA and EPA), the problem of insufficient intake of Omega-3 by mainland residents is particularly prominent. Studies have shown that among all dietary factors in Adults in China associated with the estimated number of cardiometabolic deaths, insufficient intake of aquatic omega-3 fatty acids has become one of the highest proportions of attribution. On this basis, the Guidelines recommend that the consumption structure of animal food should be further optimized, to ensure that dietary energy sources, especially nutrients, are sufficient, and to accelerate the completion of the dietary shortcomings of Chinese residents.
Eat fish twice a week, salmon into a new generation of "superfoods"
According to the data, due to dietary habits, mainland residents have long been mainly engaged in animal protein intake. However, in recent years, deep-sea high-quality protein represented by salmon and cod is becoming a new favorite of consumption.
The "Scientific Research Report on Dietary Guidelines for Chinese Residents" pointed out that deep-sea fish have high protein content, most of which contain all kinds of essential amino acids, and are also an important channel for humans to obtain DHA and EPA, which can reduce the risk of all-cause death in adults, as well as the risk of stroke, dementia and cognitive dysfunction. Fish consumption prevents cardiovascular disease and coronary heart disease and is linearly and negatively associated with the risk of all-cause mortality, i.e., increased fish consumption and reduced risk of all-cause mortality.
In addition, deep-sea fish represented by salmon play a vital role in the nutritional balance of key populations such as pregnant women and infants. Consuming an appropriate amount of salmon during pregnancy and lactation by mothers is not only beneficial to fetal and infant neurodevelopment, but also may help adjust the immune function of newborns, and also contribute to the healthy development of children's cognitive and life behaviors. The 2022 edition of the Balanced Diet Pagoda for Chinese Residents also further adjusts the intake of aquatic products such as fish and encourages everyone to eat fish twice a week.

At the second China Children's Health Forum, Wang Zhu, a researcher at the Institute of Nutrition and Health of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, delivered a keynote speech entitled "Adjusting the Diet structure to promote children's health", elaborating on the relevant achievements of China's children's dietary nutrition research, and highlighting that compared with developed countries, mainland children have a large gap in the intake of deep-sea fish, which also leads to insufficient intake of important nutrients such as unsaturated fatty acids, vitamin A, vitamin D, and vitamin E. To guide children to eat a reasonable diet and improve children's health, you can start by adjusting the diet structure, such as allowing children to consume polyunsaturated fatty acids reasonably, and increasing the intake of deep-sea fish rich in Omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids, including salmon.
In view of its excellent performance in nutritional value and the differentiated "reinforcing" effect in the diet structure of the Chinese people, salmon is becoming a "superfood" favored by mainstream consumers.

Ten years of global layout, Joyvo ushered in the "new food generation" of superfoods
At present, the global supply of salmon is slowly growing at a rate of about 3%-4% per year. Affected by the epidemic, global inflation, rising feed costs and other factors, salmon is in a new cycle of rise.
As a leading enterprise in the modern food industry, Joyvo Group has long been concerned about the upgrading of people's consumption demand for deep-sea high-quality proteins such as salmon. In July 2019, Joyvo completed the acquisition of Australis Seafoods, one of the world's top ten Chilean salmon listed companies, built one of the highest quality supply chains in the world, and became the only company in China covering the whole industry chain of salmon farming, import, processing and sales, making salmon from the pure sea of Antarctica a daily meal for mainland consumers.
In addition to the global layout of the supply chain, Joyvo is also actively promoting the popularization of popular science on deep-sea protein. The Precision Nutrition Research Institute of Joyvo Group employs top domestic nutrition experts as consultants for the institute, and cooperates with authoritative institutions such as the Chinese Nutrition Society to carry out a series of cutting-edge nutritional scientific research.
It is reported that Joyvo Group will also unite hundreds of nutritionists to carry out a series of science popularization activities, continue to lead the high-quality life of the Chinese people with healthy diet, and practice the "Healthy China" strategy. Joyvo also put forward the initiative of "nutrition upgrade for children first", and plans to promote the upgrading of nutritious meals in 10,000 primary and secondary schools in the future, including providing school supply subsidies for superfoods such as "AI dietitians" and salmon, promoting children's nutrition recipes and nutrition reports, and promoting smart canteens and smart central kitchen upgrades. At present, the "Ping An Cloud Kitchen Smart Group Meal ECC System" has been launched in hundreds of schools, benefiting 500,000 families, among which the Ping An Cloud Kitchen Smart Canteen Project of Beijing No. 20 Middle School has been selected as a key topic in the "14th Five-Year Plan" by the Haidian District Academy of Education.
2022 is the tenth year of Joyvo Group's deep involvement in the food industry. With a new round of strategic opportunities brought about by the upgrading of deep-sea protein consumption such as salmon, Joyvo Group will continue to adhere to its original intention, use superfoods to meet the needs of consumer nutrition upgrades, help the health of the Chinese people, empower the industry with the advanced productivity ecological chain model, boost industrial upgrading, and promote the "Healthy China" action with multi-dimensional measures.
In addition to focusing on the domestic layout, the overseas business of Joyvo Group has also made rapid progress. At present, Joyvo Food Salmon products have been sold to the United States, Brazil, Japan and other countries. In the first quarter of 2022, sales in North America accounted for 43%, South America accounted for 30%, Asia-Pacific accounted for 17%, and European sales accounted for 10%.
Today's Joyvo, the ecological map is accelerating and deepening, and the market demand at home and abroad is strong, which creates more "nutrients" for China, the future nutrition country. (Edited by Li Chuang)
