At the end of the Ming Dynasty and the beginning of the Qing Dynasty, due to the maturity and popularization of calligraphy, the wind of engraving was greatly encouraged and reached its peak.
As a traditional craft that has been passed down for thousands of years, the inscription transmission technology is not only the inheritance of written historical materials, but also one of the carriers of calligraphy art, and the essence of mainland calligraphy art is passed on from generation to generation.
As a derivative of the inscription- Chuantuo technology, it originated in Wei and Jin, is the precursor of engraving and printing, has been passed down to this day, and has made indelible contributions to the spread of traditional Chinese culture. With the production of rubbing, rubbing mounting technology also appeared. Suitable and exquisite mounting is not only convenient for viewing and collecting, but also increases its artistic effect, and the famous relics of the past have been properly preserved and disseminated.

The Shanghai Library Historical Documentation Center inherits and protects the inscription transmission and rubbing mounting technique, and since the beginning of mr. Huang Huaijue, a famous golden stone inscription carver, the inscription transmission and rubbing restoration and mounting techniques have been produced on behalf of others. At present, the inheritors represented by Zhao Jiafu have mastered a complete set of traditional crafts for this project.
