The concert kicked off with Aaron Copeland's The Horn of the Ordinary Man. It was composed by Copeland for all the ordinary people who died in the war during World War II, and since then, the work has been expanded into a fantasy and became the final chapter of Copeland's Third Symphony. "The Horn of ordinary people" is also a well-known work, often played at various grand ceremonies. At this concert, the performers vividly expressed the simplicity, atmosphere and majesty of this work.

Under the performance of the performers, the "Film Classic Music Ensemble" suddenly pulled the audience back to the nostalgic time, and the classic pictures of the classic films "Once Upon a Time in the West" and "The Golden Three Darts" appeared in front of the audience. Morricone's film music carries a wild West feel. In this concert, the brass quartet version was played by ten trumpets, horns, trombones and tubas.

The finale was "Sabre Dance". "Sabre Dance" is a work composed by composer and conductor Hachaturyan in 1939, which was first performed in 1942, and due to the beautiful technical segments in the work, it is still very frequent in the current performance, and is a reserved piece for many famous orchestras.

As a professional symphony orchestra, the Chengdu Symphony Orchestra continues to attract more outstanding artists to cooperate with it. The directing artist of this concert, Guo Zheng, has a wealth of band experience and is currently teaching at Guangzhou Xinghai Conservatory of Music, where he is an associate professor of bass brass and a master tutor. From 1997 to 2009, he served as Principal Trombone and Brass Vocal Director of the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra, and is now Principal Trombone of the China Straits Philharmonic Orchestra.
