Kaito No.1: Mukoming Rice Submarine Deep Dive

【Sunburn our country heavy equipment 25】

This is a "Chinese fish" that can swim on the bottom of the sea at 10,000 meters.

It is 3.8 meters long, with an orange fish back, a yellow belly, and a pair of large eyes that are bright and energetic!

Who is it to ask? It is the all-sea deep autonomous remote control submersible independently developed by the mainland - "Haidou-1".

The deep-sea space with a water depth range from 6,000 meters to about 11,000 meters, known by scientists as the "Sea Bucket Abyss", is a mysterious world that humans do not know much about, and is the deepest marine area on earth. What exactly does the Abyss look like? What kind of creatures live there? What is the ecological environment? What resources are hidden... Exploring these questions is by no means just about satisfying human curiosity.

Peng Xiaotong, a researcher at the Institute of Deep-sea Science and Engineering of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, once wrote: "The deep-sea technology represented by the abyss entry technology and the abyss exploration technology represents the top level of the current international deep-sea engineering technology; the abyss scientific research represented by the abyss geology and the abyss life science represents the latest frontier of the current international deep-sea scientific research." ”

Top level! Latest Frontier! You can imagine how difficult it is to explore the abyss of the sea bucket.

Communications, controls, materials... There are difficult problems everywhere, and the most difficult thing is how to overcome the pressure of the deep sea. Because, for every 10 meters increase in the depth of the sea, the pressure increases by one atmosphere. This means that at 10,000 meters of seabed, an area the size of a fingernail cover has to bear a ton of weight.

However, this is the peak that must be conquered to build a maritime power. With the support of the "13th Five-Year Plan" National Key Research and Development Plan "Deep-sea Key Technologies and Equipment" key special projects, the Shenyang Institute of Automation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and more than ten scientific research units in the United Nations have spent nearly 4 years to coordinate research and finally "gnaw" this hard bone!

"Haidou-1" adopts the full-sea deep-precision acoustic positioning technology and airborne multi-sensor information fusion technology for the first time in China, which can meet the various needs of scientific research.

It has a flexible arm - a full-sea deep electric manipulator with completely independent intellectual property rights, which can grasp, deploy and sample;

It can also "see" - through high-definition camera systems and other devices, humans can finally see the true face of the abyss.

In May 2020, Haidou-1 made its first exploration of the Mariana Trench. 10884、10907、10802、10863...... These figures not only represent the world record for unmanned submersibles that have been broken again and again, but also show the excellent stability of Haidou-1. The samples and image data it obtained provide valuable first-hand information for mainland scientists to delve into the underwater world, and scientific research results are still being produced today.

In October 2021, "Haidou-1" re-explored the Mariana Trench, and made important breakthroughs in a number of technical indicators such as sailing time, voyage and continuous bottom working hours working on the 10,000-meter seabed, and for the first time in the world, it achieved large-scale and full-coverage cruise detection of the western depression area of the Challenger Abyss of the Mariana Trench.

Li Shuo, deputy director of the Shenyang Institute of Automation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, said: "The success of the continuous 10,000-meter deep diving and scientific expedition application of 'Haidou-1' marks that the mainland's unmanned submersible technology and equipment have entered a new stage of all-sea deep exploration and operational application, marking the mainland's international leading level in the field of all-sea deep unmanned submersibles." ”

Follow-up tasks are in full swing. Li Shuo said: "In addition to implementing the mission of the abyss scientific expedition as planned, we will also further enhance the intelligent level and scientific expedition application ability of the 'Haidou-1', and make greater contributions to promoting the development of the national far-reaching sea strategy." ”

The story of "Haidou No.1" will continue, and the future is even more promising!
