Hundreds of new archaeological discoveries are distributed in 29 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions such as Beijing, Hebei and Shanxi.

Among them, the ruins of the ancient city of Tongzhou Han Dynasty Road County in Beijing and the Mining and Metallurgical Sites of the Liao Dynasty in Yanqing Dazhuang were selected.

In 2016, the Beijing Municipal Institute of Cultural Relics carried out large-scale archaeological work in Lucheng Town, Tongzhou District, exploring 1.22 million square meters, excavating more than 40,000 square meters, discovering the tomb groups at the site of the ancient city of Han Dynasty Road County and its surroundings, cleaning up 1,146 ancient tombs, and unearthing more than 10,000 pieces (sets) of various cultural relics.

According to historical records such as the Book of Han, the Notes on the Water Classics, and the Book of the Later Han Dynasty, Lu County was set up in the early years of the Western Han Dynasty and belonged to Yuyang County; Wang Mang changed it to Tonglu Pavilion and belonged to Tonglu County; and in the Eastern Han Dynasty, "Lu" was changed to "Lu County", which was originally called Lu County. The site of the city was the seat of government of Lu (Lu) County during the Two Han Dynasties. The ancient city of Han Dynasty Road County is located in the ancient city village of Lucheng Town.

The plan of the city site is approximately square, the north wall base site is 606 meters long, the east wall base site is 589 meters long, the south wall base site is 575 meters long, and the west wall base site is 555 meters long, with a total area of about 350,000 square meters.

Centered on the ancient city of Luxian County, within a radius of 2 kilometers, a large number of tombs from the Warring States to the Ming and Qing dynasties have also been found. In 2016, a total of 1,146 tombs were excavated here, including Warring States- Western Han Tombs, Eastern Han Dynasty - Wei and Jin Tombs, Tang Tombs, Liaojin Tombs, Yuan Dynasty Tombs, and Ming and Qing Tombs. Tombs from the Warring States-Han and Wei dynasties are not only numerous, but also the most abundant in types.

"The site of the ancient city of Lu county in the Han Dynasty is relatively well preserved, and its shape and size conform to the regulations of the Han Dynasty county in the middle and lower reaches of the Yellow River, and have important historical and archaeological value for exploring the main structure, management mechanism and organizational form of the grass-roots society in the northern region of the Han Empire and the Youji region."

In 2017, the Beijing Municipal Government officially approved the protection of the original site of the ancient city site in Luxian County, the establishment of a heritage park, and the establishment of a supporting museum.
