Recently, the relevant departments publicly solicited opinions on the recommended national standard "Connection Device for Conduction Charging of Electric Vehicles Part 3: DC Charging Interface", and the new standard will replace the currently used "GB/T 20234.3-2015" national standard.

The new national standard generally continues the 2015 version, stipulating the general requirements for the DC charging interface for conduction charging of electric vehicles, the rating of the charging interface, the definition of terminals, the layout of terminals, the charging connection interface, the size of the charging interface, the installation size of the vehicle socket and the size of the vehicle plug space.

Suitable for DC charging interfaces with rated voltages up to 1500 V DC. Among them, the ratings have increased by 10A, 16A, 25, 32A and 50A, which can be used for DC charging piles with smaller power, which can enrich the application scenarios of DC charging and increase the convenience of charging. Added 300A, 400A, 500A, 600A and 800A for high-power DC charging, which can shorten charging time and improve charging efficiency.

The DC charging interface of the vehicle plug and vehicle socket, without structural and dimensional modifications that affect interchangeability.

In addition, the requirement for sealing rings has been removed and the drain has been changed from optional to mandatory. In the 2015 edition of the standard, the charging socket is fitted with a rubber sealing ring in consideration of sealing and waterproofing. However, in practical applications, the rubber sealing ring inevitably occurs aging or wear, the actual can not play the sealing effect, if the sealing ring as a wearing part, can be replaced regularly, to solve the damage problem, but the structure of the vehicle socket is relatively fixed, it is difficult to disassemble and replace the sealing ring. For the socket waterproof, the sealing ring and the drain can choose one of them, the sealing ring is to prevent the entry of water, the role of the drain is to be able to discharge smoothly after the water is ingressed. Considering that after the vehicle socket is used for a period of time, the sealing ring cannot play a sealing role, so the revision of the standard decides to cancel the sealing ring and retain the drain. After the vehicle socket seal is removed, the drain of the vehicle socket becomes a mandatory structure.
