- University of Michigan rusher Aiden Hutchinson's Big Ten Division has occupied five of the last six best defensive rookies, four of whom are rushers. Joey Bossa in the class of 2016, Nick Bossa in the class of 2019, Chase Young in the class of 2020, and Mike Parsons in the class of 2021 are all from the Big Ten division. The three of them have made a total of 40 tackles in their rookie season. Will Hutchinson be next?
- Despite being 6'5 and weighing 272 pounds, University of Georgia rusher Trevan Walker's dynamic physical test data is like an outsider. The 40-yard score of 4.51 seconds was faster than Deventer Adams' 4.56 seconds; the three-point turnback of 6.89 seconds was faster than Mike Evans's 7.08 seconds; the vertical jump of 35.5 inches was higher than Amari Cooper's 33 inches; and the 123-inch standing jump was far better than OBJ's 122 inches. If Walker becomes the draft winner, he will be the second University of Georgia title in history since Matthew Stafford in 2009.
- University of Cincinnati cornerback "Sauther" Gardner released 0 in his three seasons at the university. In those three years, he completed 9 interceptions.
- University of Mississippi quarterback Matt Clell would be the third quarterback in school history to be selected in the first round if selected. The previous two were Eli Manning and his father Archie Manning.

Brian Saipp with the 330th pick in the 13th round of the 1972 Draft and Tom Brady with the 199th pick in the 6th round of 2000.
