Zhou Jiangyong's official past
Public information shows that Zhou Jiangyong, male, Han ethnicity, born in September 1967, from Ningbo, Zhejiang. He began his career in August 1985 and joined the Communist Party of China in November 1992. Postgraduate degree from the Party School of the Provincial Party Committee, Master of Business Administration.
Zhou Jiangyong's resume has always been in Zhejiang Province, where he has spent 36 years of his career. His career began in the education system of Yin county (now Yinzhou District) in Ningbo City, and he studied at Yuyao Normal School in his early years, and then entered Jiangshan Middle School in Yinxian County as a teacher.

Earlier, on June 1, 2021, Chu Mengzhi, former secretary of the Haishu District Committee of Ningbo City, was suspected of serious violations of discipline and law and was subject to disciplinary review and supervision and investigation. Like Zhou Jiangyong, Chu Mengzhi has long served in Ningbo.
Information shows that the head of a law firm in Zhejiang has a close relationship with Chu Mengzhi, while Zhou Jiangyong has a close relationship with Chu Mengzhi and the heads of the above-mentioned law firms.
In fact, Ma Xiaohui, Zhou Jiangyong, and Chu Mengzhi have a lot in common. All three are local political elites in Zhejiang, and they are similar in age, all of whom have worked in Ningbo. At present, Xu Guangyao, deputy director of the Justice Bureau of Yinzhou District of Ningbo City, Shen Xiaolong, former secretary of the party group and director of the Huzhou Housing Provident Fund Management Center, and Huang Xiangchong, deputy general manager of Wenzhou Oujiangkou Development and Construction Investment Group Co., Ltd., are all undergoing disciplinary review and supervision and investigation.
Whether these fallen officials have intersected with the case of Zhou Jiangyong, who has worked in Ningbo for a long time, further information has yet to be released by relevant parties.
On August 23, another official in Hangzhou was investigated. According to the website of the Zhejiang Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and the Provincial Supervision Commission, Zheng Jun, director of the Development Research Department of the Hangzhou Municipal Urban and Rural Construction Commission, was investigated.
In addition, in July this year, Zhang Shuitang, former deputy secretary-general of the Zhejiang Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government, who had been retired for seven years, voluntarily surrendered. Under the grim situation of "fighting tigers and swatting flies," these incidents in Zhejiang are inevitably eye-catching.
The business community is busy dispelling rumors
From August 21 to 22, rumors circulated that the Zhou Jiangyong family was suspected of suddenly buying shares before the IPO of a local company, and the close relationship between Zhou Jiangyong and other Ningbo officials who were recently investigated was also widely concerned.
The day after Zhou Jiangyong fell, someone posted on the Internet that in November 2020, the listing plan of a financial technology company in Zhejiang was urgently stopped. Before the IPO, the Zhou Jiangyong family spent 500 million yuan to buy shares first, and 520 million yuan was refunded before the listing was completed.
The group quickly issued a statement debunking the rumors.
On August 23, the website of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the State Supervision Commission released the news that Hangzhou has launched a special governance project affecting prominent problems in pro-Qing government-business relations. The special governance mainly focuses on the three aspects of self-examination and self-correction of leading cadres to prevent conflicts of interest, the "review" of the special governance of leading cadres' illegal lending, and the standardization of the behavior of leading cadres' spouses, children and their spouses in doing business and running enterprises, covering all municipal management leading cadres who are in service and who have retired or left their posts in the past three years.
