Synopsis of the storyline

Shaolin Soccer is a kung fu comedy of big cities, little people, inspirational, full of sunshine and hope. It tells the story of Chow Sing Chi's star who is obsessed with martial arts, but has become a scavenger, and the "golden right foot" of the hero- Ming Feng (Wu Mengda) invites him to play football, and Xing and his brothers who have studied martial arts in Shaolin form a Shaolin football team to fight for the National Football Cup with the devil team led by Ming Feng's nemesis Qiang Xiong (Xie Xian). One of the directors, Hoshiya Zenga, uses the football field to play a fantastic plot, the action design imagination is rich, the action is smooth and pleasing, and the difficulty and professional level are extremely high. With the help of exquisite technology, Shaolin Kung Fu is just like the whimsical performance in martial arts films, and the godly and imaginative depictions of iron cloth shirts as defenders, water floating midfield passes, King Kong legs responsible for shooting, and grappling hands as goalkeepers are breathtaking, while the conciseness and fun of the dialogue are hilarious.

Football has always been the world's unimpeded international language, and Shaolin Kung Fu has set off a chinese cultural boom that has been in the ascendant for half a century. The two elements add up to a powerful selling point for the film! In this self-directed and self-acting work by Stephen Chow, the two major sports that are incompatible with each other are transformed into a film art charm through computer stunts.

Ming Feng (also known as the golden right foot): Greedy with a little cowardice, doing things very much need the encouragement of others, with a sense of justice. Twenty years ago, he was secretly calculated by Qiang Xiong, his right foot fell disabled, and twenty years later, he met Xingxing, who was pregnant with Shaolin martial arts, regained his self-confidence and cooperated to form a Shaolin football team, and re-emerged as a coach.

Master Brother, Second Master Brother: Both of them were the core employees carefully trained by the Shaolin Temple in that year, and then forced to change careers due to the shrinking of the industry, and finally re-emerged from the jianghu with Zhou Xingchi to play a new world with the fame of "Shaolin Football".

From the film about the process of Star Ye's initial team formation to participate in the competition, many of the dialogues of these supporting characters reflect the views of teamwork and maintaining and striving for excellent employees, and in several excellent supporting roles, we once again appreciate the power of small people.

1. Heart-wrenching in management

How to attract and retain employees

Here, Xingye is one of several managers in the Shaolin Temple who have mastered the core technology. With the progress of the times, the services provided by the Shaolin Temple seem to be more and more incompatible with the market demand, and finally fall to the point of dismal operation. Several department managers other than Xingye were unable to get what they needed at the Shaolin Temple and switched jobs. With the belief in reviving Shaolin, Xingye found the golden right foot supported by the technical shareholding, and prepared to interview with his old colleagues and pull them back to discuss the grand event.

Scenario n

Characters: Star Master Brother Second Master Brother Boss Golden Right Foot

(In the nightclub, the master brother kept throwing things.) )

Star: Brother Master, what's wrong with you? Brother Master, are you okay?

Master: Well, I'm fine! What do you think?!

Star: Oh, I finally came up with a brilliant plan to make Shaolin martial arts even more exciting!

Master: Huh?!

Star: It's just kicking – the ball!

Master Brother: (holding star's leg) Well, you let me have a way to live! I've been beaten! Squid fired! Now I'm going to wash the toilet and lose money!

Star: So I'm here to take you – to save you!

Master Brother: No! You haven't saved enough? Don't push me!" Do you want my whole family to jump off the building and die in front of you?!

Star: Death doesn't solve the problem... You are brave! Where did your ambition go?!

Master Brother: Shut up! Count me as unambitious! Please don't look for me, find other brothers! I beg you, I beg you, don't bother me anymore, I beg you...

Golden Right Foot: (Expression of Contempt) Iron Head Gong!

(A fish market)

Second Master: Kicking football?

Star: Yeah! Second Master Brother! If your whirlwind legs were used as a defender, I'm sure...

Golden Right Foot: There is no flaw.

Star: That's right!

Second Master: Look at my current virtues, I still whirlwind my legs!

Star: Well, it's okay to be a little rusty, as long as there is fighting spirit, martial arts will definitely come back!

Second Master: Is it?

Star: However, the day before yesterday I saw you washing the toilet, how did you turn to washing dishes again?

Second Master: Why? That's a question I want to ask too! I don't understand either! Why isn't my dad Li Ka-shing? Why am I so handsome, but I have to lose my hair? What about you two who look so ugly and don't lose your hair? Why do people have books to read when I am a child, and when I was a child, I had to be forced by my father to practice some rotten ghost martial arts! Practice until now, wash the toilet! Wash the dishes!

Star: Oh... Second Master Brother, calm down! In fact, fate is in their own hands-

Second Master: Calm?! If I hadn't been calm enough, I would have hacked you two bastards to death with a knife!" Calm down?!

Nothing to say --

Imperfect concepts and incentive systems are the root causes of difficulties in attracting and retaining employees.

Several of the characters who appear in the scene are very depressed. The second master brother is washing the toilet in a complaining way, and the master brother (also an iron head gong) is still a professional counterpart, specifically being headshot with a wine bottle... Despite this, the lobbying of Star Ye and Golden Right Foot still did not work, and everyone would rather maintain the status quo than risk playing football. It seems that attracting and retaining employees is indeed not an easy task, is it conservative ideas that make them feel that the hope of success is too slim, or what is provided that does not stimulate their real needs?

Background information

It is said that Xingye and Golden Right Foot persuaded the brothers who had changed careers to return to the big family of restoring Shaolin Kung Fu. We only excerpted the scene of their dialogue with the master brother and the second master brother, because they are the most representative. The master brother and the second master brother have worked in the Shaolin Temple for many years, and although the boss has systematically trained them to become the best in the same industry, it is a pity that this martial arts industry cannot withstand the impact of the market, and the entire industry has died. A few of them can only fall to the point of washing the toilet. Fortunately, Star Ye kept in touch with them after they left.

When he got the opportunity to regroup, he could immediately recall several division brothers. Although several division brothers did not mix well after jumping ship, most of them refused to go back out of disappointment in the original company. Xingye was obviously not old enough in this regard, he did not emphasize the bonus situation to the brothers, nor did he prove how likely it was to win the championship. However, fortunately, he still knows the brothers who have worked together for many years, he knows that everyone is not willing to waste the professional knowledge obtained from years of training, and they all have the ideal of creating a career, and it is for this reason that Xingye has pulled them back and laid a good foundation for the second entrepreneurship in the future.

Many people believe that "modern corporate competition is ultimately a competition for talent", and as more and more foreign companies pour into China to further expand their businesses, there is fierce competition among various types of companies to hire and retain good employees. Talent loss is one of the key factors restricting the development of enterprises, and retaining talents has become an important issue facing enterprises. Let's first take a look at the relevant data released by the survey agency:

Human resources consultancy Hewitt conducted a survey of 1,007 companies with operations in Asia, and 57% of multinational companies that responded said they were concerned about retaining employees, the highest proportion among the countries surveyed.

According to a survey by Hewitt, 45.1% of merchants in China still face a shortage of management talent. In contrast, in countries and regions such as South Korea, Hong Kong and Taiwan, companies lacking management talent accounted for 8.3%, 10% and 14.3% respectively, far less serious than the Chinese mainland. The rapid flow of management talents and job hopping are the challenges that must be faced when doing business in China. According to the company's survey, 43 percent of Chinese companies feel that talent mobility is a major problem. In Singapore and Malaysia, only 5% and 4.5% of companies are worried about this.

The average turnover rate of employees in various enterprises seems to be the talent turnover rate of the whole society. On the surface, mobility will bring many benefits, such as promoting the exchange of talents, knowledge, and so on. The so-called "trees move to death, people move to live." However, the current flow of talents by mainland enterprises cannot be regarded as a healthy flow. In other words, the benefits are not as many as imagined, but on the contrary, there are many disadvantages or potential harms to enterprises and society as a whole.

Time goes back to before the Shaolin Temple, a state-owned enterprise, went out of business. Shaolin Industrial Co., Ltd., a national veteran enterprise, has always been favored by the market by virtue of its mastery of the core technology "Shaolin Kung Fu", and has been alone in the world. The original CEO director ignored the changes in the market's demand for kung fu and has been indulging in past successes. Events such as China's reform, opening up, and WTO accession have brought about tremendous changes in the market. Western culture quickly invaded the Chinese market, and the Chinese people seemed to be no longer interested in the traditional cultural industries led by kung fu, and they gradually believed that Shaolin kung fu could not beat heavyweight boxers such as Tyson. As a result, the performance of Shaolin Industry plummeted, and the former president had to abdicate and give way.

Shaolin Industry is an old state-owned enterprise, although the original CEO conducted special training for the core employees (Xingye Sixth Division brothers), but due to the lack of the necessary "retention" mechanism, so as soon as the enterprise had difficulties, everyone left, and the enterprise soon fell apart. The failure of the Shaolin Temple is not accidental, nor is it an isolated phenomenon, it contains many common problems in employee management of mainland enterprises.
