I remember once, when 3 members of our Shenzhou No. 7 flight crew visited Hong Kong and communicated with thousands of students in a stadium, a primary school student asked me: Uncle, aren't you afraid of death? I said: Like everyone else, my uncle is an ordinary person, a flesh and blood body, and he is afraid of death. But there are many things in this world that are worth giving our lives, such as the profession of astronaut and the cause of manned spaceflight. Therefore, I am not afraid of death.

Looking up at the stars and exploring the sacred mission of the vast universe inspires us to work hard; looking forward to the future, the magnificent picture of building a space power is calling us to continue to write glory. In space, the microwave radar developed by my team and I showed outstanding performance, successfully completing the mission goal of "first capture, stable tracking, and accurate measurement", which excited all the researchers present. At that moment, I will never forget, the joy of witnessing the dream become a reality, the pride and sense of mission that cannot be exchanged for fame and fortune.

With the development of the aerospace industry, I have the honor to participate in a number of major engineering tasks such as manned space engineering, lunar exploration engineering, Mars exploration mission, etc. The radar products we developed have also achieved three generations of upgrades, and have experienced ten space missions and achieved proud results of ten complete victories. Looking back on the development process of microwave radar, all successful achievements are inseparable from the gathering resources and joint efforts of the 25 teams of the Second Academy of Aerospace Science and Industry Group, just as the achievements of each milestone of China's aerospace industry are the results of giving full play to the advantages of the new national system to overcome difficulties.

In recent years, a great feeling is that more and more aspiring young people have devoted themselves to the aerospace industry of the motherland. Every year, I also bring a lot of young people, they have ideals, responsibilities, hope to use their knowledge and skills on the battlefield that the country needs, they have dreams, work hard, step by step, stick after stick, in the hard running and continuous struggle to achieve their dreams.

Fortunately, in my best youth, I caught up with the great era of rapid development of the motherland's aerospace industry; even more fortunately, I personally experienced the great feats of manned spaceflight, lunar exploration projects and deep space exploration on the mainland in the front line of flight control missions.

Over the years, as the organization and commander of the front line of mission flight control, from one mission a year to six major missions a year in parallel implementation, I can deeply feel that China Aerospace is working hard along the planning direction, and I can also truly feel the importance of shouldering missions and responsibilities, and I can truly appreciate the increasing pressure of mission execution, which has aroused everyone's determination to challenge the impossible. In the face of the new situation, we have carefully studied and analyzed the characteristics of the task, innovated and improved the task organization and implementation mode, adjusted and optimized the allocation of personnel, and constantly broke through the upper limit of the task execution ability. The overall leap in flight control technology capabilities, from the improvement of orbit calculation accuracy from 100 meters to 10 meters, from the manual arrangement of multi-objective collaborative planning to the maturity of automated planning technology, from the manual monitoring of thousands of parameters to the intelligent auxiliary analysis of massive information, I will never forget to discuss the plan with colleagues, joint investigation test, and spend the countless sleepless nights together, everyone works together, competes together, and enjoys together.

Sometimes, I have also wandered, the task can never be completed, why should I suffer this? However, when we see the meticulous, rigorous and meticulous work attitude of the "old comrades" around us, face the full support of family and friends, think about the vision of the older generation of astronauts for a lifetime, and catch up with such a good era, what reason is there to hesitate! From "God Starling" to "Beijing Understands", everyone's attention and expectations for the aerospace industry have injected unlimited impetus into us and made us feel the mission like a mountain.

In October 2003, the Shenzhou 5 manned spacecraft was successfully launched from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center, which planted the seeds of space dream in my heart. In 2005, when I decided where to go after graduation, I chose to work at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center without hesitation, and I also received support from the leaders of the center to continue my direct doctoral studies. After graduating with my PhD, I returned to the center again. Coming to this land that carries the glory and dream of national rejuvenation, I resolutely applied to go to the front line of launch and to the front-end post. On April 26, 2013, the Gaofen-1 satellite was launched from the launch site, which was my first official mission. I am extremely proud to be able to lift a rocket into the sky. This year, the Shenzhou 10 manned mission was fully launched in the center, and I undertook the test work of 20 individual rocket control systems. When the rocket ignited and took off, the spacecraft successfully entered orbit, and the astronauts successfully entered space, I deeply felt the sacredness and greatness of the space industry. In 2015, the new solid rocket was to be launched in the center, and several young comrades and I were appointed as the system commander, meticulously prepared, carefully organized, and carefully implemented, and finally achieved the success of the first flight of the new model rocket. The new launch team was formed, and I was appointed as the person in charge, leading the team to achieve the first victory in the first battle, the successive victories, and cultivated a group of backbone talents.

At present, the mainland has entered the era of the space station, as the only manned space launch site in China, the function and mission of the center are expanding, and other types of tasks are also advancing in an orderly manner, and the prospects are very broad. I will make my own contribution to the journey of building a space power with a more enterprising attitude!

In the past decade, the Beidou system has completed a huge leap from regional networking to global coverage, from serving the Asia-Pacific region to benefiting the world. As a Beidou person, I feel particularly happy.

When the Eighteenth National Congress of the Communist Party of China was convened, the 16th Beidou-2 navigation satellite had just been successfully launched, which was the final battle of the Beidou regional navigation system. On December 27, 2012, the Beidou-2 system officially provided regional services to the Asia-Pacific region, marking another big step forward in the process of establishing an independent and controllable satellite navigation system. We are well aware that this step is only a new starting point for the journey of struggle, and the task of developing and building a global satellite navigation system is more difficult, the challenge is greater, and the burden is heavier, but our determination and goal to achieve "China's Beidou, the world's Beidou, and the first-class Beidou" have not changed, and the pace of independent innovation and overcoming difficulties by astronauts has not stopped.

With a mission in mind and a responsibility in mind, we carry forward the spirit of "two bombs and one satellite", promote various work in a down-to-earth manner, and bravely climb the peak of aerospace science and technology. On November 5, 2017, the first batch of networked stars of Beidou-3 were successfully launched into orbit in the form of "one arrow and two stars". After that, we continued to work hard for 1,000 days, successfully launched 30 networking satellites, and finally ushered in the "highlight moment" on July 31, 2020 - the Beidou-3 global satellite navigation system was officially opened! The Beidou spirit of the new era of "independent innovation, open integration, unity of purpose, and the pursuit of excellence" was proposed.

Beidou "Made in China", "good to use in heaven, good to use on earth." "Our efforts have made this vision a reality. The progress of China's Beidou is a microcosm of the leapfrog development of the aerospace industry in the new era - several generations have continued to struggle, and hundreds of thousands of builders have concentrated on it, refreshing the "Chinese speed" again and again, showing "Chinese precision" and highlighting "Chinese temperament". Nowadays, beidou satellites work safely and stably in orbit, the system service performance is world-class, and the beidou scale application has entered a key stage of marketization, industrialization and international development, which not only benefits the people of Chinese, but also benefits the people of all countries in the world; in the future, the application of Beidou will bring us and bring more to mankind.

As the project leader of this key stand-alone equipment, I have experienced 12 spring and autumn since I participated in the development of the project in 2010.

In 2013, after three years of overall work, I took over the responsibility of project leader from Wang Zheng, the former chief designer. As the last stick in the safe recovery of the Shenzhou spacecraft, I am well aware of my mission. The two sentences that Wang Zheng said to me the most were, "The state gives us this minute, we must complete the task well," and "If you want to enter the launch site without trembling, then work hard in peacetime." These two sentences have always spurred me on, never be complacent, and do not slacken off.

Shenzhou Eleven mission, is the first time I officially calibrated the final performance status of the product, although the product technical principles, circuit details have long been familiar with the heart, although experienced hundreds of simulation exercises, as the project leader to preside over the completion of the entire process of development and production work, but when I really adjust the meter, the inner pressure is still huge. This performance index is directly related to the final ignition performance, related to the success or failure of the mission and the safety of astronauts.

Before this, all the flight product debugging was personally carried out by Wang Zheng. When I adjusted the watch that day, Wang Zheng accompanied me the whole time. Seeing my nervousness, he will also tell a few jokes to let me relax, "The design redundancy of the product is definitely no problem, you can adjust it with confidence, and adjust the performance to the optimal mode, just like you usually practice", "This is the process you have to go through". The whole debugging process went very smoothly, he seemed to be light-hearted, but I knew he kept a close eye on the data.

This is a microcosm of the tradition of "passing, helping, and taking" China's aerospace industry, and the reason why the aerospace industry can flourish is because there is a "mountain" behind us, and it is our aerospace predecessors who are willing to be ladders to help us grow, adhering to the belief that "success does not have to be in me, success must have me".

On the eve of graduation, the chief engineer of the Capital Machinery Company, a subsidiary of the First Academy of Aerospace Science and Technology Group, came to his alma mater Tsinghua to hold a lecture and exchange. This was my first exposure to and understanding of spaceflight. When I learned about China's aerospace industry from the mouth of the senior, I saw the rows of advanced CNC machine tools as I went to visit and learn, and I decided that this was the place to realize my ambitions in the future.

In 2005, when I first came to the workshop, when I was first exposed to various large-scale CNC processing equipment, many processes were not understood, many software could not be used, and many systems were very unfamiliar... This stimulated my enthusiasm for learning, and every practical exercise was an opportunity to "recharge" the production site, humbly ask experienced craftsmen and operators for advice, and verify the learning results in practice. In this way, I slowly grew up, and my colleagues and I have solved many national key model quality and efficiency process problems. For the development of the Long March 5 carrier rocket, manned space engineering, Beidou navigation project, lunar exploration project and other national key tasks, a variety of structural solutions are proposed to solve design problems and promote the development process. Especially in the past 10 years, after growing into a team leader, he led the team to optimize the key components of the hydrogen-oxygen engine process, and the processing efficiency increased by more than 9 times.

However, we are well aware that there is still a gap between China's manufacturing and world-class manufacturing, and many deficiencies in equipment, materials and processes require us to catch up and surpass. These cutting-edge technologies cannot be bought or bought, and we must adhere to self-reliance and independent innovation, hold the key core technologies in our hands, promote the pace of Chinese exploration of space more steadily and farther, and contribute to the realization of the space dream.
