CM-2000 passive precursor new product release

The unique concept of the japanese collaborative Phasemation for the pre-stage led to the emergence of the CM-2000 passive pre-stage:

Phasemation's flagship products have always been based on the most ideal design angle of the product's characteristics, without compromise, without following the trend and without imitation to practice their (good voice) concept.

Phasemation believes that the ideal pre-design concept is to allow all sources to be delivered to the post-level amplification in its original form. Therefore, the front stage is preferably a state with no additional gain and no loss, with the best volume control and source selection two basic functions. To practice this approach, the use of transformers to provide signal compensation, complete passive design, and the selection of optimal volume relays, etc., is the "good sound" strategy of Phasemation to develop the CM-2000 front.

The CM-2000 pre-stage deliberately uses a passive design method, so that the source can be transmitted to the rear stage amplified with the most direct and no additional gain. Because there is no power supply equipment and electronic circuits and other parts in the machine, the signal is completely free of any interference, and there is no change due to the need to enlarge the signal, ensuring that the latter stage can obtain the purest audio source signal, and distortion is completely eliminated.

In addition to the passive design, the designer considered that in the case of the distance of the transmission and the change of the resistance value, the weak source signal level will be further reduced and affect its dynamics, and may even make the post-amplification work greatly difficult, resulting in an imbalance in matching. To solve this problem under passive conditions, the CM-2000 specially built two sets of transformers for input signal compensation. The transformer is made of PC Trip C copper wire winding and 0.2mm thick alloy, which gives it excellent linear effect. A special damping material is added between the transformer bottom and the chassis to effectively reduce the low vibration. Each set of transformers is responsible for the voltage conversion of the hot and cold pole signals of each channel, which is in line with the fully balanced line method. Even single-ended RCA input signals are coupled to a balanced output by a fire bull. Because the transformer is connected in a balanced ugly way, the signal can obtain a "common mode rejection" effect to eliminate noise frequency, bringing ultra-quiet signal output, and the signal will not be too lost and affect the sound quality.

In addition to using transformers to compensate for the input signal, maintaining the level and resistance of the signal is another important point. All internal wiring of the CM-2000 is made of PC Trip C high purity copper, plus excellent insulation and screen materials. The wiring and communication paths of the entire front stage have been carefully laid out to meet the transmission guidelines of the shortest channel , Shortest Signal Path " , allowing the signals to maintain consistent sound characteristics and maintain extremely low impedance levels. All input/output sockets are made of High-grade Rhodium Platinum from Furutech (Furukawa) to ensure optimal signal delivery for the CM-2000.

Volume control, can be said to be the lifeblood of the previous level, the whole set of sound sound is good or bad, it is definitely one of the culprits. Regardless of the cost, the factory adopted a 46-block step-by-step volume knob design as the heart of the CM-2000. The volume control is two independent groups of left/right channels, one group is responsible for the "hot pole" signal, and the other group is responsible for the "cold pole" signal for attenuation, a total of four groups to meet the full balance signal operation requirements. Each resistor of the sound control is carefully selected to ensure an error of less than 0.5%.

The fuselage shell is cast from 2mm thick stainless steel, and the high-screen technology is added, so that the entire CM-2000 passive pre-stage has a strong anti-magnetic and anti-noise ability, and the signal-to-noise ratio can also be improved. The panel is cut from 20mm thick aluminum alloy, the bottom of the machine is made of Japanese high-grade walnut board, and the cast iron legs developed and oem by the Japanese TAOC (Takagaoka) add elegance to the appearance of the CM-2000.

Each channel is responsible for a transformer, and there are 4 sets of built-in coils (the primary is a set of hot poles / a group of cold poles, and the secondary is also a group of hot poles / a group of cold poles), so that the signal is variable and transmitted in a fully balanced manner.
