Spring and autumn ginkgo biloba is also spring, hengyu historical witness

Not far east of Zuo Qiuming's tomb, there was originally a Zhengjue Temple, and there was a ginkgo tree of more than 2,000 years in the courtyard, also called Gongsun Tree, commonly known as Baiguo Tree. This tree is said to have been planted by Shizu Zuoqiu Ming, and is also called "Spring and Autumn Ginkgo Biloba". The tree is 22.25 meters high, 182.98 meters in diameter, 10.65 meters in base circumference, 21.8 meters in the canopy from east to west, 15.8 meters from north to south, and four branches above the main trunk, all of which are more than one meter in diameter. This tree has a tall trunk, lush branches, shade for nearly an acre, and bears fruit every year.
Everyone looked at this big tree and was very surprised, saying that it was much larger than the Tai'an Dai Temple and the Niushan Temple Ginkgo.
The local legend of the forty-eight arms of the tree is very interesting.
I published this article in the provincial journal Mass Art in 1981.
"Forty-Eight White Fruit Trees"
There was originally a temple in the west of Dasi Village on the east side of Hengyu Village in Shiheng Commune, Feicheng County, and there was a white fruit tree in the temple, which was tall and exuberant, with lush branches and leaves, like a large umbrella, and the waist circumference was about four or five arms thick. However, there is a local saying that "the white fruit tree is forty-eight arms". What's going on? It turned out that during the Xianfeng period of the Qing Dynasty, a blind fortune teller passed by, heard that there was a very large tree here, and also wanted to see and see how thick this tree really was! So he asked a few children to lead him to the tree, and he put a bamboo pole on the tree as a mark, and he used the bamboo pole as a benchmark to measure it one by one.
A mischievous child joked with the blind man, took the bamboo pole aside, and the blind man wrapped his arms around the tree and measured it, while shouting in surprise: "This tree is so thick!" Tired, he was covered in sweat, and when the blind man was tired and wanted to stop, the naughty child put the bamboo pole on the tree again.
When the blind man reached forty-eight, he touched the bamboo pole. He was very happy to say" Too coarse! Too coarse! Forty-eight arms! ”
Since then, the white fruit tree of forty-eight arms has spread.
Dujun Wenyou poem:
Spring and autumn ginkgo biloba
The Great Temple Gongsun Tree towering in the sky,
Leafy is a spectacle.
Straighten the torso of a thousand pillars,
Vast shade and cool 100 acres of land.
Through the vicissitudes of suffering,
Narrating the history of the present macro,
Forty-eight arms and laughter,
Care for the Holy Sepulchre of Qiu Ming.
