Therefore, kidney health has important significance for the human body.

It is precisely because everyone is aware of this that in the process of physical examination, the kidney function will be extra carefully observed.

In general physical examination, blood creatinine, blood urea nitrogen, and blood uric acid will be checked. However, due to the lack of understanding of medical knowledge, it is always full of questions when facing the physical examination report.

Which of these tests is a sign of abnormal kidney function?

1. Even if the ---- of blood creatinine is normal, it cannot be careless

The so-called creatinine is actually the product of muscle metabolism in the body.

According to clinical studies, every 20g of muscle metabolism in the human body can produce 1mg of creatinine, and this component is excreted by the kidneys.

When the renal parenchyma is damaged, the glomerular filtration function will also decrease, resulting in a rapid increase in the concentration of blood creatinine;

In general, serum creatinine concentration can be used as a diagnostic indicator of impaired glomerular filtration. But blood creatinine is a little more sensitive than blood urea, and it is not an early sign of the discovery of GFR!

That said, even if serum creatinine is at normal levels, there is no guarantee that the kidneys are healthy. Because after a mild decrease in GFR, there is no significant increase in serum creatinine.

On the contrary, if the blood creatinine level is significantly exceeded, it can basically be judged that the kidney function is abnormal.

From a scientific point of view, since serum creatinine is in the normal range and is close to the normal high limit, it should be taken seriously. Especially during the urine routine test, there is also a problem, which requires the next step of the test.

2. Blood urea

Elevated may be that you eat too much meat.

Urea is actually the final product of protein metabolism in the human body, and the excretion of urea also needs to be filtered by glomeruli.

Under normal circumstances, about 30 to 40% of the urea produced in the body will be reabsorbed by the renal tubules.

When the kidney is damaged, the glomerular filtration function decreases, which will lead to an increase in blood concentration, so the clinical measurement of the value shown by urea nitrogen can roughly observe the glomerular filtration function.

However, blood urea abnormalities can be affected in many ways, and the increase in this content alone is not necessarily a sign of decreased renal function.

For example, excessive intake of protein-containing foods in life, or severe dehydration, ascites, hepatorenal syndrome, hyperthyroidism, etc., will lead to an increase in blood urea levels, but blood creatinine is generally not elevated.

3. Blood uric acid

Persistently elevated damage to the kidneys

Uric acid is the final product of purine metabolism in the body's core acid, and the uric acid produced and metabolized by the body on a daily basis is proportional to it. Except for a small portion of blood uric acid, which is destroyed by the liver, most of it needs to be excreted through glomerular filtration.

In general, the increase in blood uric acid is mainly related to the hyperpurine diet, excessive endogenous purine production, and decreased renal clearance of blood uric acid.

In most cases, high uric acid is associated with a high purine diet.

When chronic kidney disease occurs, it can lead to a weakening of its excretory function, which affects the elevation of uric acid.

From a clinical point of view, an increase in uric acid is not necessarily a sign of kidney damage.

However, the continuously elevated blood uric acid level will not only increase the metabolic burden of the kidneys, but also damage the kidneys.

In any case, kidney problems need to be comprehensively analyzed by professional doctors, after all, everyone's physical condition is different.
