"I don't think I'm going to have another decade in my tennis career, so I'm going to live every day."

Due to a hip injury, Kei Nishikori is likely to return to the U.S. Open after a long offseason, and his remarks in recent days are suspected to be a sign of imminent retirement.

Earlier this month, Kei Nishikori had announced that he would miss this year's clay Grand Slam tournament, and he was accompanied by the well-known Swiss player Federer.

Born on December 29, 1989 in Shimane Prefecture, Japan, Kei Nishikori began learning to play tennis at the age of 5 and came to the Polyteni Tennis Academy in the United States to train at the age of 16, with sponsorship from the president of Sony Corporation.

In 2007, Kei Nishikori officially became a professional player, and the following year he appeared as a qualifier at the Delray Beach International Championships, eventually winning his first singles title of his career.

Kei Nishikori also became the first Japanese player in 16 years to win an ATP Tour title, but the premature appearance of injuries forced him to stay away from the game in the 2009 season, and a ligament strain in his right leg caused him to return to the field in February 2010.

In 2011, Kei Nishikori finished runners-up at the Houston Clay Championship, and this year he withdrew from the first round of the US Open due to a waist injury... However, with the good performance of the Shanghai Masters and basel indoor tournaments at the end of the season, Kei Nishikori, who was ranked in the top 30 in the world, still set a new record in the Japanese men's tennis rankings.

Of course, Kei Nishikori's name is really known to more fans, or at the 2014 season of the US Open, when the Japanese famous will defeat the world's no. 1 Djokovic in the men's singles semifinals to advance to the final.

Unfortunately, the loss to Cilic did not win the cup, of course, this did not prevent Kei Nishikori from creating a new history, and he became the first Asian men's player to reach the year-end finals in the 2014 season.

Throughout the 2014 season, Kei Nishikori won four singles titles including the Memphis Open, the Tennis Open Barcelona, the Malaysian and Japan Open, and the year-end ranking was finally fixed at fifth place.

There is no doubt that the outside world is looking forward to Kei Nishikori being able to pick up the banner of Asian men's tennis to continue to move forward, but with age and various injuries, Kei Nishikori has been on a mediocre performance in recent seasons.

Brisbane's 2019 victory over Medvedev was Kei Kinori's most recent tour win, and he has been hanging out of the tournament since Stockholm announced his retirement from the tournament due to a back injury in November 2021.
