For BYD, the reason why it can have such a strong performance in operating data is inseparable from the violent upward momentum it has shown in new energy vehicles.

According to the previous sales report released by BYD, in the first quarter of 2022, BYD sold a total of 291,378 new cars, an increase of 180% over last year. Among them, a total of 284,737 new energy vehicles were sold, accounting for 98% of BYD's overall car sales.

In the field of new energy, BYD has always adhered to the strategy of "two legs, walking together" of DM plug-in and mixing and EV pure electricity, which is also demonstrated in BYD's sales.

In the first quarter, DM plug-in hybrid and EV pure electric sold 141,514 units and 143,223 units, respectively, a significant increase of 857% and 271% over the same period last year.

In contrast, BYD said: "The Group's new energy vehicle sales hit a record high, the market share continued to rise, achieved rapid year-on-year growth, led to a significant improvement in profitability, and to a certain extent hedged the profit pressure brought about by the rise in upstream raw material prices." ”
