Blue Sky Studios was founded in 1987 by a group of artists and computer engineers who worked at Walt Disney Pictures. In 1997, the studio was acquired by Twentieth Century Fox to focus on animated films.
The release of Ice Age in 2002 made Blue Sky Studios famous, and Ice Age became their signature film series, which until 2016, when a total of five films were filmed.
In the video, the little squirrel will rush for acorns every episode, and Blue Sky Studios even released a short film for it, "No Time for Nuts", which was nominated for an Oscar in 2006.
In 2019, Disney acquired Twentieth Century Fox, and Blue Sky Studios went under Disney's wing. In February last year, Disney announced that it would close Blue Sky Studios, mainly because the losses caused by the epidemic made it impossible for Disney to continue to operate three animation studios at the same time.
After the closure of Blue Sky Studios, most of the staff will be transferred to Walt Disney Animation Studios and Pixar, and the employees will finally take group photos as a souvenir.
Now, a year later, the little squirrel as an Easter egg has eaten the acorn that has been chasing for 20 years, and the era of an animated movie is over.
