Paradox Interactive has developed many classic strategy games, such as Crusader King 3, Metropolis: Skyline, etc., and their new work "Victoria 3" has recently suffered a major setback, and its beta version has been leaked internally and circulated to various pirate websites.
Victoria 3 moves the stage to around the industrial age of the 19th century, with players choosing one of more than 100 different countries to manage. Compared to the critically acclaimed Crusader King 3, the game focuses more on the combat component and socio-economic planning.
Victoria 3 was officially announced in May last year and is scheduled to be released in 2023. However, the beta version of the game was leaked by 4chan users and circulated to pirate websites, casting a shadow on the sale. What's more, after some players downloaded this incomplete version through illegal channels, the game was so degraded that the interaction between the developers and players was raging and the morale of the team was low.
Crysis 2 leaked in a similar way back in 2011, when its beta quickly topped the list of popular downloads on major pirate websites. However, in the long run, the incident did not cause too much damage to Far Cry Crisis 2. It's unclear how the Victoria 3 leak will affect it, and Paradox Interactive hasn't issued a statement on the matter.
Victoria 3 is scheduled to be released in 2023 on a PC platform.
