Ms. Shen Genlian is the chairman of the board of directors of Huanlong Holdings, the chairman of Sichuan Huanlong New Materials Co., Ltd., the founder of The Banbu brand, and the vice president of the Paper Chamber of Commerce of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce.
Its industrial Huanlong Holdings has now become the first in Asia and the fourth in the world to make papermaking pressed fabric company, Sichuan Huanlong New Materials Co., Ltd. has developed into a brand enterprise of the whole industry chain, a national forestry and agricultural key leading enterprise, and the Banbu BABO brand is the first brand in the industry.

Ai: First question, in your opinion, what are the gender advantages and disadvantages of women in entrepreneurship? How can gender differences be transformed into gender advantages?
Shen Genlian: I think entrepreneurship is not a distinction between men and women. As long as they are entrepreneurs, they all shoulder the responsibility to their families, employees, and partners. Enterprises are not only entrepreneurial, but also social. Whether it is the optimism, tenacity, tolerance and dedication of women, or the rational, decisive, enterprising and competitive spirit of men, they are all excellent qualities that help entrepreneurs achieve business success.
Ai Q: Second question, how do you determine the current direction of entrepreneurship?
Shen Genlian: After graduating from university, I came to Sichuan from Jiangsu to start a business, and so far I have been cultivating 2 industries for more than 30 years: one is an environmentally friendly dehydration material for to B, and is the upstream supplier of paper mills, which has grown to the first in Asia and the fourth in the world. One is to make to C products, extract bamboo fibers with biomass refining technology, and strive to achieve the full price utilization of biomass bamboo. Now the Banbu brand has grown into the first brand of domestic household paper, and has become the first household paper enterprise in China to enter the mainstream market of the United States with its own brand.
Whether it is to B or to C, when determining the direction of entrepreneurship, I attach great importance to: one is how to continue to shape the core competitiveness of enterprises, especially the ability to continuously innovate in technology and products; the other is how to bring unique value to users, such as bringing safety and health to C-end consumers, leading green and low-carbon consumption, improving the operation efficiency of paper machines for B-end users, and helping to reduce carbon in the supply chain. I think these are the foundations that help businesses achieve sustainable development.
Insisting on industrial investment and shaping national brands is the entrepreneurial direction that I have been adhering to for more than 30 years. I am also very grateful for the country's reform and opening up, and the entrepreneurial opportunities given by the times.
Ai asked: The third question is, what is the biggest difficulty you have encountered in the process of starting a business? How did you overcome it?
Shen Genlian: I think entrepreneurship is always on the road, there is no success, only growth. Looking back at the different stages of development, enterprises have encountered large and small difficulties. But I often encourage the team that difficulties are not terrible, and difficulties are not insoluble. If you feel that it is "difficult", just because "the ability to solve problems is not enough", so you must continuously enhance the ability to solve problems, and the ability to solve problems has improved, you can achieve "will be at the top of the mountain, a panoramic view of the mountains".

Ai Q: Fourth question, many people are plagued by the "ceiling" of the workplace, for example, some women return to the workplace after giving birth, and they cannot continue the original rank due to a short disconnect, or they cannot continue the original potential energy. What advice do you have for this?
Shen Genlian: Women should establish a positive view of career development from the heart. The work-life relationship is not opposed, work is also a part of life, and the two are mutually reinforcing. As a woman, as long as you love your profession, and maintain your interest in new things and new knowledge, so that you can continue to learn and progress, I believe that the experience of childbirth can also become an advantage in the workplace.
Ai asked: The fifth question, a word of advice to women who are about to start a business, what would you say?
Shen Genlian: Keeping the right way and going far. Take the dream as a horse, and live up to Shaohua. This is also my experience in the past thirty years of entrepreneurship.
Ai: Sixth question, looking forward to the next 10 years, what do you think the female power will be like at that time?
Shen Genlian: The development of the digital economy has created many employment and entrepreneurial opportunities for women, and has enabled women to have more flexible time and space to balance their careers and families. It is foreseen that in the next 10 years, in the wave of digital economy, there will be more female entrepreneurs, more diversified work scenarios, and more unique value for society.
Ai: Seventh question, foreseeing the next 10 years, what will you do?
Shen Genlian: After 10 years, my ideal is to teach and educate people on the university campus, and at the same time, through the open platform built by the enterprise, help more young people achieve their entrepreneurial dreams.
