7-year-old Amy passed the interview and entered the Metropolitan Opera in New York to perform. She has performed more than 20 operas in six languages at Lincoln Center and has shared the stage with Domingo and Pavarotti.
In 2000, Amy played the young Audrey Hepburn in the television film Audrey Hepburn," the same year starring in her first big-screen film, The Folk Collector, which earned her nomination for Best Debut performance at the Independent Spirit Award. At the age of 18, Amy starred in two very different films: "The Day After Tomorrow" and "Phantom of the Opera". Amy's performance in the latter film earned her a Golden Globe nomination.

She said: "They didn't want to see me, they didn't even let me audition, they thought my image was too charming, but I couldn't be less pretty. She sent them a tape of her own and managed to win their support. After four auditions, she got the job.
