The Key to the Balkans, the Friendship of the European Railways (98) – ZemunChardoshta, Belgrade, Serbia

author:The Orchid of the Regent's Heart

The Chartordosh Tower is a landmark of Zemun and was built on top of a small hill. Formerly, Zemun was once the border of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, and the Chartorsh Tower is said to be the watchtower of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Built in 1896 during the reign of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the Galdosh Tower was part of a large fortress that now leaves only a few ruins for the rest of the fortress. Due to Hungarian rule, the architecture of The Gardósta and the old town of Zemun, where it is located, is very different from that of Belgrade' Old Town.

The Old Town of Zemun is located on the banks of the Danube River, and ascending the Tower of Candosh offers panoramic views of the Old Town of Zemun and the Danube River and the belgrade city in the distance.

After walking into the Tower of Candosh and buying my tickets, I ascended this ancient watchtower.

The red bricks on the tower are inscribed with many names, dating back even to the time of World War II. Saying that it is a record of love, in fact, I can't understand it, but I think that this portrayal is still inappropriate in the current view.

But at the time, there should have been no provisions for this portrayal to be illegal.

Climb to the top of the tower for a panoramic view of The town of Zemun. The yellow church in front of you has become the most eye-catching building.

This is the sixth church I've seen in Zemun. In such a small town, you can see six churches, which is really not a small number.

From this point of view, you can see the Danube River located on the shores of the town of Zemun.

The Danube River and the town of Zemun are unobstructed, and many of the red-roofed cottages are nearly 100 years old. I think that this area was the place where the Austro-Hungarian Empire and the Ottoman Empire faced off.
