At noon today, a piece of news spread rapidly among anime fans: the famous Japanese manga artist Fujiko Fujio A died at home at the age of 88. It is also this sad news that reminds everyone of this familiar but unfamiliar name again.
Fujiko Fujio A, whose original name was Yasuko Suo, has known Hiroshi Fujimoto since elementary school. Influenced by Osamu Tezuka, the god of manga, the two set their minds together to become manga artists. In 1954, they moved into the famous Tokiwaso and published works such as Q Taro under the pseudonym Fujiko Fujio.
However, due to the gradual increase in the differences in style and subject matter between the two, in 1987 they announced the dissolution of the long-standing group. It is also said that Fujimoto felt seriously ill and decided to disband in order to avoid the family's struggle for copyright. At this point, Fujiko · F. Fujio and Fujiko Fujio A are two manga artists who can be officially distinguished.
Compared to Fujimoto, Yasuko's manga style is much darker. This was well reflected in the 2017 re-animated "Smiley Salesman NEW". Salesmen help people fulfill a variety of wishes, but those who default or do not listen to advice are punished accordingly. But in fact, the "help" of the black is not out of goodwill, and the ending of the story is also full of irony of human nature.
In 1996, Hiroshi Fujimoto died of liver cancer at the age of 62. The death of his best friend was a great saddening for Anko, and he also expressed his tribute to Fujimoto in his works during this period. When he was asked if he would continue to create Doraemon, An Sun zi clearly replied: "That is the type of work I can't paint."
Today, 26 years later, Mr. An Sun Zi passed away following the footsteps of his best friend.
