Protect the Albas Velvet Goats action upgrade!

-- Local enterprises jointly went deep into pastoral areas to carry out fine testing and cashmere grading publicity work

Ordos Group has been implementing the subsidy policy of high-quality cashmere in the Albas region for three years, and has purchased about 65 tons of cashmere in the region in the past three years, and has issued a total of 1.1 million yuan in subsidies. In order to better and more widely implement the high-quality and preferential price policy, protect the Albas white cashmere goat breed, and promote the development of high-quality cashmere goat breeding, the Otok Banner government plans to jointly increase the number of enterprises in 2022 on the basis of the original subsidy standards for enterprises. Subsidies for cashmere below 5 microns.

In order to better implement the high-quality and preferential price subsidy policy in the new year, so that the majority of herders can obtain breeding benefits at high-quality and preferential prices, on March 10, 2022, Ordos Group, together with Albassumu and related Gacha, went deep into the pastoral area to carry out a month-long detail testing and mapping of cashmere goats and the publicity and training of cashmere grading in the region.

Pre-departure work deployment meeting

The mapping and publicity work was led by the Raw Material Branch of Ordos Resources Co., Ltd., with the cooperation of Arbassumu and related Gacha, and a certain number of core demonstration herdsmen were selected as testing objects. A detailed mapping and publicity working group composed of professional and technical personnel has been set up. The team will take samples on site, detect the results on the spot, and establish a complete file of high-quality cashmere fineness for the herdsmen.

The mapping and publicity work will be carried out in Ulan Wusu Gacha, Bayin Wusu Gacha, Huhe Tolgacha in Albassumu, and about 150 core demonstration herdsmen will be identified on the basis of herdsmen's voluntariness, and accurate fineness files will be established for herders through whole-group testing, laying a good foundation for cashmere grading.

Sampling in pastoralist homes

At about 9:00 a.m. on the morning of the 14th, the mapping and publicity group walked into the home of Bilig, a herdsman recommended by AlbasSumu, located in Ulan-Usugacha, which is a demonstration household with a certain scale of breeding of Arbas cashmere goats, breeding nearly a thousand one-year-old cashmere goats.

Technicians on-site inspection

Arriving at the herdsmen's home, the team was divided into two groups, the sampling group and the testing group. The sampling group is a group of three, one person catches sheep, one person takes samples, and one person labels; the testing group is a group of three people in the technical group, one person is responsible for the sample, one person is responsible for operating the instrument to detect the fineness, and one person is responsible for establishing the file. The samplers took samples from the neck, shoulders, abdomen, buttocks, and back of each goat as samples, and then sent them to the testing team, where the technicians measured the data after mixing the samples, which was the final fineness data of the sheep. The division of labor was clear, the work was coordinated and orderly advanced, and a total of 582 samples of the herdsmen were taken and tested on the same day, and the specific fineness test data was as follows:

Through the data, we can see that the average fineness of the household is significantly better than that of other herdsmen, because the cashmere goats raised by the herdsmen belong to the descendants of pure-bred Alpine cashmere goats, which shows that the breeding work is of great significance for the preservation and protection of high-quality cashmere goat breeds in the region, improving the quality of cashmere, and curbing the thickening of cashmere.

This solid and meticulous mapping testing and publicity work not only helps herders to grade cashmere, but also helps to understand the cashmere breeding situation in the Albas region, laying a good foundation for the establishment of a close pastoral enterprise connection mechanism in the area in the later period.
