It happened in October 2020, one day, I found that the small class teacher Liu was very depressed, listless, absent-minded wandering around the courtyard, and I was very confused when I saw that I also showed a look of wanting to talk and stopping. Ms. Xiao Liu, a new teacher who just joined in September, is young, energetic, enthusiastic about her work, very motivated, and has mingled with the children in just one month. What's going on?

So I called her up and asked why.

At that time, I was startled by the hearing, and I asked if I had called 120? Have you contacted a parent? Everyone is instructed to be calm and inform the 120 doctors of the child's medical conditions in detail. On the way back in an emergency, I asked about the ins and outs of the matter. She told me that the child was eating, and suddenly he fell on the table and convulsed, foaming at the mouth, rolling his eyes, gritting his teeth hard, and now he was paralyzed and could not agree to anything.

What the hell is going on? My brain kept thinking: Is it that the lotus nuggets are too big for children to chew? Is it the teacher urging the child not to rub it when eating? Isn't it...... What if the child chokes because of eating and something goes wrong? Is there a problem with the management of the kindergarten?

The trepidation and nervousness along the way. Soon, I came to the kindergarten, at this time the 120 ambulance also arrived, we went to the hospital with the parents, a temperature was measured, the child had a high fever to 38.8 ° C, the emergency room doctor diagnosed, prescribed some medicine, the child took the medicine, and observed for a while, the doctor said that the child is now fine, but need to do a comprehensive examination. As soon as they heard that the child was okay, everyone's hanging hearts were slightly relaxed.

In order to thoroughly understand the truth of the matter, I first tuned out the monitoring of the class, checked the half-day activities of the class, focused on the morning check-in and dining session, and looked at the child's entire dining process in detail. The child was eating, when he suddenly fell on the table and twitched his hands and feet, and the two teachers rushed to him. From the monitoring and analysis, the teachers from the morning inspection of the kindergarten, lunch are within the scope of the child's activities, and the work is also more meticulous.

I went to the canteen again to see the sample of the day's meal, cut into small pieces, and the dishes were cooked very softly, in line with the dietary requirements of young children.

Then I asked the two teachers in the small class to understand the situation, and they both began to cry as soon as they saw me. I said the child has a fever don't you know? How is the body temperature measured? Why don't you focus on children who are sick? The work is so meticulous, how to do a good job in childcare... Then one of their teachers told me that in the morning, the child entered the kindergarten very late, the body temperature was normal, and the activities of other children were normal, we were careless, Teacher Liu bowed his head and did not say anything.

Until more than 3 p.m., the parents of the children told us that the children were all right, that it was a pediatric convulsion. Yesterday the child had a little cold, just gave him some medicine, and did not care about him. I was a little frightened on the way to school this morning, and I didn't care, so I sent my child to the kindergarten, and I didn't tell the teacher in time to cause you trouble.

To tell the truth, this is the first time I have encountered such a thing, as soon as I heard the parents say that the child was okay, the heart I was hanging on finally let go, I asked the parents to communicate with the teacher more and so on.

This incident sounded a wake-up call for all of us, and in order to prevent the slightest deviation, I urgently held a meeting of all the faculty and staff. Let everyone discuss this matter, and everyone agrees that the daily management of children must be done practically, carefully, and strictly at every step, standardize operations, and prevent problems before they occur!

In the next few days, I managed to contact the professional doctors of the Pediatric Department of the County Women's and Children's Hospital to give us a detailed first aid knowledge training, and then we used online resources to conduct in-depth learning. Let each teacher further clarify the diagnosis and treatment of sudden diseases in young children.
