Once Japan monopolized China's 96% lithium battery market, it could still sell at a high price, but it did not laugh to the end

When it comes to lithium batteries, it must be no stranger to them, because with the continuous popularization of smart products, most of them use lithium batteries. For example, mobile phones, drones, tablet computers, telephone watches and other products are inseparable from the blessing of lithium batteries. But maybe you don't know, once China's lithium battery market was almost occupied by Japanese companies, but in the end Japan will completely abolish a good brand.

Once Japan monopolized China's 96% lithium battery market, it could still sell at a high price, but it did not laugh to the end

According to the understanding, in 1991, the Japanese giant Sony took the lead in entering the lithium battery industry, and let the company's cameras, camcorders, and Walkmans be sold worldwide. Even after 2000, mobile phones and laptops began to use lithium batteries. At its peak, during 2006, the four major components of lithium batteries developed in Japan, the global market share of cathode materials, electrolytes and diaphragms was as high as 77%, and the anode materials accounted for 96% of the global market share, which can be called "king fried" products. Moreover, a monopoly was formed in China at that time, especially around 2000, raw materials such as natural graphite were purchased from Heilongjiang and Shandong in China, and after processing, they became the anode materials for lithium batteries. However, the sale price is as high as 500,000 to 700,000 yuan per ton, which is equivalent to ten times the market price.

However, with the rise of Chinese lithium battery companies after 2010, they have planned to compete with Japan for the market. One of the representatives is Shanghai Shanshan Group, which has packaged and bought the core lithium battery anode research project of Anshan Thermal Energy Research Institute. Subsequently, the annual output of intermediate phase carbon microspheres of Shanghai Shanshan Group was as high as 200 tons, although the production capacity was not large, but it indirectly pushed the price of lithium battery anode materials down to less than 300,000 yuan per ton. As a result, the Japanese factories set up in China have been closed, coupled with the sudden rise of China's Bertrand, and finally in 2006, the negative electrode materials have been mass production, becoming the world's fourth largest producer of anode materials.

As for why Japan has failed in the Chinese lithium battery market, it is also said that the magnitude 9 earthquake that occurred in 2011 is the strongest earthquake in Japanese history and also caused a tsunami. As a result, Japanese lithium battery companies have been hit hard, and Chinese companies have taken the opportunity to rise again and truly achieve a counter-over in the field of anode materials. Coupled with the rise of China's new energy vehicles, it has made China's lithium batteries develop, and Japan can not compete with China, and can only choose to develop in the field of hydrogen energy.

As a result, although Japan once almost monopolized the Chinese market in the field of lithium batteries, it did not become the final winner. In this regard, it can also be said that Japan can be regarded as a "self-deprecating martial art" in the field of lithium batteries, and even lost the "king fried" product. It can also be seen that the strength of China's manufacturing is the last to come, which is why China can laugh to the end.
